They have actually changed that rule.

I was unaware of that.  Nix what I said, then.

The rule is still so open to interpretation that it’s farcical sometimes.

I was unaware that they changed the rule, so I can't comment as I don't know the new rule.  The old rule was very consistent.  Once I saw a replay, I could call that one correctly about 95% of the time because the rule was very clear cut.  If they are now allowing the refs more judgment on the calls, then there is going to be more inconsistency.

    • You guys think that was one of the most exciting games all year. I know my team lost but it was still a barn burner of a game.
    • Only way Bowen’s speculation makes sense is if Ballard has a clear upgrade locked up.    Otherwise, what is the point in getting rid of your fallback option, who has already said he won’t play for another team?    It’s more plausible that this was Rivers’ decision after talking to his family and friends, and realizing Colts were lukewarm about him.
    • The backup qb is always the most popular player to NFL fans.  lol.  To many on here its been the 3rd string (Eason) or practice squad qb (Swag Kelly) that's the most favorite!
    • Sorry. It's about 36 mins in. The slider tells you certain segments their talking about.
    • They did both. They saw how the WRs were lined up. If they stacked them on one side, they would blitz from that side and crowd the crossing routes with the LBs in the middle, with the idea that Allen would have to wait several seconds before the WRs can run to the opposite side, where they don't have defenders. By that time, the pass rush got to him most of the time. That also sped up his internal clock and he started spraying his throws and led to inaccuracy.   If you run a balanced formation vs the Chiefs, with 2 WRs and 2 TEs, as opposed to 3 WRs and 1 TE, they will have a harder time blitzing because the QB should be able to find someone on either side. That is what the Bills did not do enough of, IMO.
