If the Pack wants to trade him away already I would say that we shouldn't give up more than a 6th round pick for him. And that might be stretching it.

Why need a 4th down when you can run it in for a TD on 3rd down? At worst, he might be stopped at the 1 or 2 yard line and can do a QB sneak, quick pass or FB handoff. Might have made the decision easier for everyone to go for it on 4th down.

Not sure I agree with the "built to win now" narrative. I think Ballard is using an approach where the Colts can remain competitive into the future instead of just a short window of opportunity. And if they really believed this was the year then why not go get the best QB and provide some additional weapons like Tampa Bay did? NFL rosters turn over pretty quickly. Sure you try to keep your stars but the rest of the roster turns over in about 5 years I think - someone could provide better data on that. The point is you are always built to win now or not good enough to win now. We are either going to bring in a vet as a starter or start some completely unproven guy (unless we go with JB and then we know what we are getting). What is your recommended solution? I get the idea of not liking retreads - but used trucks can be excellent vehicles. Let someone else take the big up front loss and get yourself a great vehicle for years to come!

I thought he didnt cuz he assumed it was 4 down territory, but i think everyone watching kinda wondered why he didnt as well. Usually he doesnt hesitate to run it in -
Id be blown away if theres any truth to this. Its the same with the Hurtz traded out of philly rumors. Since when has it been established that if your drafted in the NFL you have to start immediately. Love or Hurtz are on rookie contracts not going anywhere, they will sit behind the respective starters (Wentz, Rodgers) till its time. People forget Aaron sat behind Favre for 3 seasons
