One thing Kelly definitely has on Brissett is a quicker release. That's one thing that kinda worries me about Brissett. Kelly gets it out so fast (and pretty accurately) on all these short throws.

Hi, Colts fans!   Our Indianapolis Colts are  southeast down Interstate 74 to play the Cincinnati Bengals in both teams 28th all-time preseason meeting. Colts are also trying to avoid   a winless 2019

I see why. It just amazes me. These guys are so skilled to get to this level, and they look like they have never worked on punt returning ever in their lives. How is that?

Not sure.

But my brother and I used to sit at my nephew's high school football games CONVINCED we could easily make 35 yard field goals.  Like.... convinced.

I think some things just appear easier than they are.

Kelly is coming back down to earth without Cain. That was a badly thrown ball. A good QB would of had Parris for the TD.

Yeah, let your WR run under.  He shorted him instead.

We all knew he wasn't perfect.

And I don't discount how difficult it is. I know, as I never could return myself. But I was a defensive guy with bad hands. I just can't imagine that most of the stud receivers in the leage wouln't be stud returners like TY was his rookie year or that AB was in Pittsburgh for so long.

I was on the Kelly hype....but that was definitely a bad ball....maybe he just doesn't realize how fast Campbell is?

Could be.  Campbell has been out about 13 or so days.  May not have had a lot of reps with him.

I think the Colts need to get Paris Campbell off the field.  We need him for the opener...healthy.

He's got to get some burn so he can test that hammy.  I have no issue with him playing a few more series.

Parris had to stop running when he realized it was a bad throw. I really would of loved to see him get that TD.

I still like Chad Kelly.  All young QBs will make their share of mistakes.  Hopefully he can learn quickly from them.

This is what pre-season is all about.  Make your mistakes here and don't do them in the real games - or again this game.

he hasn't got to play with him like at all for one and all the weapons he has built good chemistry with are bot playing so that sucks

Not worried about that with Reich. His plays will be designed to get it out quick.

    • That's possible, and sounds familiar. So how many plays might that happen on in a given game, and how many players are affected by it? Ultimately, what kind of impact could it have on a player grade if PFF throws out 5-10 plays a game?   Also, if a player was nursing a left leg injury, and used a different technique than usual to try to mitigate that injury, in turn taking a loss on a few plays, PFF grades them negatively. Which is fine. But that might result in a player having a month of lower grading than usual, with PFF not acknowledging the injury in their grading. They publish those lower grades, and fans/media say 'this player had a bad month at the end of last season, he's not a hot free agent.' Team X says 'he's outstanding when he's healthy, and he battled through injury, let's give him a huge contract,' and the response is 'PFF says he's not that good, that's a bad contract.'    Nothing wrong with PFF's grade, he did have a bad month. But they have a blind spot to context in their raw grading. And people who consume their grades have a tendency to quote them as if they are definitive. That's my overall point about their grading, and why it's not as valuable to me as it seems to be to others.
    • The media picked up the Fisher news yesterday when they had the film session with Ballard.  Ballard said they want to do a long term deal once Fisher proves he can come back from his injury.  Don’t look for anything soon.  Honestly I expect Leonard and Smith extensions before the season starts and Fisher at some point in the season if he comes back.  If they can’t get one done in season it wouldn’t shock me to see the Colts tag him and then do one if he recovers.
    • Of course they were drafted to be 3 down lineman, so their ability to run 20-30 yards or more sideline to sideline to fill gaps and make plays may prove vital numerous times per game..
    • I point to it because it keeps happening. And now Sharp's breakdown makes it clear that it's not just in my mind. The Colts are near the bottom in multiple categories. (But again, it's not a market/popularity thing. In fact, some of the teams that have been really bad for a long time are near the top, suggesting it's kind of the opposite.)   To structured scheduling, I think you could get a week of all division matchups. I believe they've done it at times in the past, usually toward the end of the season (especially after 2009). But I do think you undersell the difficulty of shared venues with other events. The teams/admins that own those venues want to host as many events as possible, outside of the 8-12 football games they have every year. That's another 40 weekends they can have a convention, concert, whatever.   Not sure what you mean about flex scheduling. They're not flexing games between days, just times. (Right? Did that change and I missed it?) And there are teams that have solo stadiums, but shared parking (like the Ravens/Orioles, and that caused an issue with the 2013 opener), or other weird little exceptions that the schedule makers have to account for. Late December games in Buffalo, early September games in Florida, etc., and how often visiting teams are subjecting to those potential extremes, should be factored in. There's a lot.   But they could do a Rivalry Week every year. I think one week could be done. Ravens/Steelers, Packers/Bears, Giants/Cowboys, Pats/Jets, etc. I don't really think the Colts have a division rivalry, but I guess it would be the Texans?    As for AZ, I'm actually in SoCal. I just didn't have the bandwidth to type a response last night. They added some good players, whether they can still perform at a high level is questionable. I think Watt is still good. Green, depends on Kyler Murray, which is kind of the only thing that matters with AZ right now, whether he can step up.
    • I would assume we wouldn't re-sign or extend until the end of the season when he will be a FA, correct?
