people forget brady threw 18 tds to 12 picks in 2001 when he replaced bledsoe and won the super bowl    . jacoby had 17 tds and 7 picks in 2017 .   the difference brady had a amazing team .

later round QBs take time to get good .   brady was a game manager at first  russell wilson was too .   manning looked like a bust his first year 3-13 .    the biggest reason people are hyping brissett is first the eye test he makes big time throws into tight windows and throws a great deep ball .    he plays like big ben .   he just needs to be more consistent from 2017  where he made pro bowl throws but wasnt consistent .  with age and practice comes consistency .

It would be great if the Patriots helped us out twice haha . 1st McDaniels leaves and because of it we hire Reich, then in a trade we get Brissett for Dorsett. If Brissett plays well and we at least win the division, I may send BB a thank you card lmao .

Yes, you're right. We have no idea about Kelly's ability to make deep throws effectively. What the hell are you talking about? He has an absolute rocket.

Does anyone really think Brissett has the athleticism and fast twitch to make this TD?

Look at this. Dude effortlessly seemed to throw it like 60 yards.

I'm saying that using common sense and your eyeballs tells us that you need QB's who are playmakers to do well these days in the playoffs. I can only think of a few game manager type QB's whose teams were semi-successful in the playoffs in the past 5 years, Bortles and Keenum. Otherwise, in the past 5 years you've got Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Cam, Peyton, Wilson, Goff, Luck, Mahomes. JB doesn't fit with those dudes. Even his biggest fans would have to admit that.

JB is a good dude and seems to be a great team leader, but the fact that most everyone's default position around here is either "well who can we draft next year" or "maybe we should give Swag a chance" kinda tells you all we need to know about JB. He's never shown any ability to be a consistent big time playmaker in the regular season or even the preseason. Hell, or even in college. He only threw for over 300 yards once in his ENTIRE college career.

We'll see.

Some questions/notes on your comments. What was Goff under Jeff Fisher? What was early Tom Brady?

I'm not going to pretend I remember much of Brissett from NC State, I didn't pay much attention to him but was his lack of numbers on the offense OR on him.

**He passed for over 300 twice in 2017.

Did Parris Campbell produce in college? What're your expectations from him?

You may be right. I've tossed 2017 in my expectations of Brissett but the camp reports were not great and the sample size from preseason isn't enough for me to make a strong call however I have seen preseason QB performances with the Colts in recent years as good as or even better than Kelly's! Heck, even from this same P. Walker so it's hard for me to start crowning Kelly as this QB who'll carry the team in the playoffs. He couldn't start over Denver's crappy QB's no?

We will see soon enough. Between both guys, hopefully Indy can win 10 games.

He entered the season as Keenum's backup. I believe his arrest may have been after the first week of the regular season, so he never got a chance to take Keenum's job (if he ever was)

I've watched  alot of tape on Brissett. You could compare  to alot of QBs. A little of big Ben, rodgers, wilson. Despite him being slower than Luck his legs are an asset  in extending plays, getting  first  downs, evading blitzers.  He is sneaky athletic.  His arm strength  is up there with the best of them.

I've never claimed Jacoby was great.    Elway feels Kelly isn't.   Otherwise,  he would still be a bronco

Not to mention,   Jacoby has a clean record off the field.   Your son doesn't

I think we have learned that Elway is not a good evaluater of QB talent.

Brisset should be the starter, no doubt.  Kelly should be kept on the roster though.

btw, in my google and youtube rabbit trails on Kelly, I came across a rap song that he wrote and performed....about himself. It's glorious.

Sheeze

Is he another Jeff George?

All the talent, but maybe mash potatoes for brains

Arrogant people MOSTLY stay arrogant

Maybe the humble approach of this team is EXACTLY what this kid needs

Also..... LOSE the 70's pornstar mustache dude

If you put Chad Kelly on PS........ I BET that he will be grabbed after this last preseason

He gets a roster spot

Question for the board....

Does he count if he is suspended?

Here to balance what seems to be the way over hyping this team from some on here.

Before the Luck saga a few were saying we were due for a down year.  The preseason showed we cannot run the ball even with 90% of our starting o-line. Look I really like Jacoby. He is the perfect backup in this league.  He is the ultimate pro. If the preseason imo is any indication how this season goes its going to start exactly like last year where we put ourselves in a big hole early. The problem is we dont have a top 10 QB anymore who can pull miracles out his butt while putting the team on his back at all costs.. Jacoby deserves better and quite frankly he knows this is Lucks team and its going to be super rocky early on getting everyone on the same page.   This is less about Kelly than it is JB.

Now lets flip my argument and put a new twist on it.  Irsay coming out after the initial reports saying he wouldn't rule out Luck coming back makes me think Luck might be struggling with something else right now that has less to do with injuries. I can

see the Ballards logic to keep JB around if there is even a small chance that happens.

The problem with that scenario is Indy pretty much burned that bridge when they booed

Luck off the turf.  Who knows but its interesting to think about. Either way I will be rooting for the Colts regardless who the QB is.

You're working under the assumption that Ballard trusts Andrew still. Why is Andrew allowed to be human, retire from the NFL because of his current state, yet fans arent allowed to he human, and feel betrayed? Andrew just did an advertisement for season tickets. The entire Colts organization has been saying Andrew will play week one or soon after for 4 months man. 4 months. Then 2 weeks before the season he retires. I think its fare to give any of those fans a pass for feeling completely betrayed and lied to for the last 4 months or 2 years if you really want to get into it.

This whole booing thing has been blown way out of proportion. And from what I have heard, by the point that the boos even started, there were only a handful of Colts fans left in the stands. It's nice that the entirety of the Colts fan base gets judged off of a handful who happened to remain at a preseason game. But why trust people to be logical?

You know if fans continue to get blamed for % expect them to walk away from all this. It's not like we are getting paid to watch.
