Colts Vs. Bears Preseason Game Night Thread

The fact Kelly moved the ball in the  4th quarter the last two games really shows how bad Walker is.

From what I can see the OLine is the same the 2nd half?  Looks like it is Walker just having a bad game again.  Clark is just not having a good night tonight, though.

LeRaven Clark has to be cut. He's getting destroyed by 2nd and 3rd stringers. I do not want to see him out there in the regular season at any rate.

Walker knows it’s the end of the line.  Kelly got the starter reps in the 3rd preseason game. Looks like he’s over thinking out there.  No confidence.

I hope Phillip Walker plays all 4 quarters against the Bengals and then gets cut immediately afterwards.  Chad Kelly and Brisset have already shown enough.

Clark is bad. Isn’t Haeg really AC backup?

Keeping Clark in this late is not a good sign

Have we had any other QB’s in camp?

If Luck isn’t ready game one though we would need another QB.

Was Clark in when Kelly was in?

Yes and he was getting killed then too. Chad Kelly is just a playmaker and was playing with better receivers.

I think so.  He’s always had a problem with speed guys.  A guy going around him & him pushing the defender in the back (right into his QB) is a normal occurrence.

Yep.  Oline looks the same as what was in the 1st half to me.

And if there has been any doubt that Kelly was the better QB.....this game continues to prove it

That’s not saying much.  Stephen Morris 2 years ago was the better QB...

Good point.  Well put him on the practice squad.  But play him all 4 quarters next week to avoid injury to the other QBs.

Clark started at left tackle a few weeks last season and was bad then too. Cost us the game against Phili. We can't take the chance that he gets in during the regular season. He's gotta go.

Chris Ballard needs to have his eyes on potential backup linemen that gets cut from other teams because we have very little depth. I'm only comfortable keeping Haeg and Andrews outside of the first 5.

It's going to depend on if Andrew is playing week one. Walker will make the roster if Luck doesn't play because Chad Kelly is suspended the first two weeks. If Luck does play, Walker probably will be on the practice squad until Kelly's suspension is finished.

Beohm did a good job for Kelly last year.

I vote for adding a QB of the waiver wire

Can Andrews play another position?  I like Boehm to back up at G & C.

I think people are being a little too hard on Walker. Kelly is obviously the better quarterback,  but Walker is out here throwing passes to Veasy and Marcus Johnson. He doesn't have Cain or Krishawn out there.

Not to mention he has two horrible tackles in the game giving him no time to do anything.

    • People keep acting like most players get deals done by now. There are very few big names who have locked things up. Look at the top 25 FAs.  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001096883/article/top-25-nfl-free-agents-of-2020-no-shortage-of-intriguing-qbs   How many are nailed down?
    • Jordan Phillips - DT - Late of the Dolphins 2nd Round Pick) and the Bills. 6'6" and 324 pounds that will clog up the middle and push the pocket. Same capabilities as a lot of the "bigger" names but likely at a cheaper cost.   Breshad Perriman - WR - Former 1st Round pick that will be on team number 4 with this next contract. Finally started balling out with the Bucs last year. Has all the measurables but the label as a bust will keep the price tag down. 6'2" and 209 - Dad is Brett Perriman so the pedigree is there too.   Eli Apple - CB - Just started showing signs of his 1st Round pedigree with the Saints. Ballards typical measurables at 6'1" and 200 with 32 inch arms. Corners never come cheap but with bigger 'names' out there he would be an under the radar target.   Sidenote......with Wilson not dressing as a CB last year due to not playing ST's, I believe he will become the 4th safety behind Willis as Geathers replacement. A good coaching staff will find a way for talent to get on the field and help the team. Besides, with Desir, Rock, Tell and Moore and either a FA or Rookie the defensive backs room is pretty solid.
    • I like it   Gordon will probably last till our third round pick   It is a roll of the dice at QB   Kelly and Gordon are good potential but both have basement level “floors”
    • CB is spending near Carr's contract yearly $ amount on JB in 2020....
    • I was shocked when I read that 30M article.  Talk about click bait.  I never worry about the money or the contract.  Whatever Ballard signs him for is fine with me.  18M or 22M or any number that's up to Ballard.  Who am I to second-guess our GM on what a player is worth and what they should be paid.  It's all about supply and demand and cap management.  That's Ballards expertise not mine.  I don't think he even knows where this QB decision is heading.  Still too early.
