Irsay’s comments on Luck

Recommended Posts

As a fan, I cant help but think, here we go again. The injury is unclear both with its severity or how it happened. Nor is there any clear timetable. Next thing you know, theres money missing of your dresser and your daughters knocked up. Seen it a hundred times. Is this situation total nonsense? Sure is. Can we do anything about it? Nope. Will I still go to games or tune in to every game? Sure will, because I love the team. Not just 1 (albeit very important) guy. What makes it so difficult now, is because of the high expectations and the possibilities of being pretty dang special. It can still happen.

Friday warming while bowling up I blew out my lower back.  Couldn't even bend over to pick the ball up off the of the ball return.  Still bowled a 269 last game with a 230 average for 3.

Well, at the very least I respect Ballard (and Luck because I'm sure he gave him the go ahead) for starting to divulge all this information.

Are we sure this wan't just an Irsay oops, and that's the only reason why we're getting more info now....

I think it's possible that they (Irsay/Ballard/Luck, etc.) decided they were going to reveal more info today and maybe Irsay just jumped the gun a bit yesterday...? Just a guess.

Because, like Holder mentions, some of this is stuff that they've just learned today.

Yeah, I'll just get out ahead of the "people need to stop panicking" posts to point out that I'm not panicked or worried about the thought of Luck missing more time.

If Brissett plays week 1, or beyond that, it is what it is.

This is too funny,

They literally have no idea what the hell is going on.

And notice that they are staring to hedge their bets and give little hints about Luck not being ready for Game 1.

Bye bye season.  IMO time to look for a new QB in the draft.  You simply cannot be going through this every year.  He is the most injury prone QB I know of outside of RGIII.

Time to find a new medical staff if you ask me.

That too.

Pretty ridiculous this has been going on since March and even seasons before and it is just now coming to a head a few weeks before game 1.

I mean...to me that is total incompetence.

Once he has the issue in the spring surgery should have been done.  We learned what rehabbing and trying to rest does with the shoulder......jack ****.

Andrew has access to the best specialist in the world. He went to the Netherlands. I am sure there have been many specialist involved in this.

Yeah he is out game 1.

It seems that irsay spoke out of turn because  Luck was having testing today. So some of this was just found out today.

sorry folks, not sure I can buy they just found out due to tests today.

from muscular, to bone, to not bone, to a muscular issue that turned into a bone issue...

started in March... 5 months ago. given the resources at their disposal, and the millions of dollars on the line, they're not exuding or inspiring a lot of confidence lol.

Trying not to sound cynical.. I usually hide behind sarcasm.. but seriously if Andrew can't go.. maybe time to find a new hobby.

I just can't.. my favorite player not being able to play. While Grandpa I'll play forever Brady will continue getting hardware.  :mindblow:.

Okay I'm done complaining. See y'all later

So much for the if the the season started this weekend he would be playing comment.. sounds highly unlikely he will be playing week one. I just don’t know how they don’t know what the injury is lol? They have the best doctors they could buy and still can’t find the problem?

It sounds like they were rehabbing the calf and now are switching to the ankle. I believe it was said they believe the bad calf caused his already bad ankle to get worse.

I think what is the most concerning is they can’t figure out the issue. Well what’s to say they still can’t get it under control by the start of the season and they decide surgery is best.

Perhaps we just need to call Androclus

I can’t blame him for not wanting to play with pain anymore. He learned his lesson. I still think they are being smart with a very unfortunate situation that keeps changing.

The smartest thing they can do is let it heal. However long it takes, I’ll be rooting for the Colts regardless. It’ll be okay, fellas.

    • It seems that folks should lay off of all these insiders. They are sharing information as they hear them. I believe folks here became upset with Destin, not because of what he did or said, but because other insiders were criticized and disparaged for sharing news that was opposite of what Destin had reported.   We all have insiders that we prefer. I personally like Tom Pelissero, but I'm sure he has made mistakes too. Let's just give all of them a break. Without them, it would take a lot longer for us fans to learn about news involving our favorite teams.
    • One last thing, he notes at the end this is Ballard’s MO but he understands why people are frustrated with it because it needs to start producing results.
    • One of the great things the NFL does is getting people to believe they aren’t rich.   The league made 17 billion dollars in 2021 in revenue.  The average NFL team is worth 5.1 billion dollars.  These guys aren’t broke or strapped for cash.  They can afford these things.     For what it’s worth Holder is reporting that the Colts made the decision not to go after Sneed and then gave that money to all the guys they re-signed last week and had they gone after Sneed it would have been as the expense of some of those guys, specifically Kenny Moore and perhaps Grover Stewartt which tracks with Kenny at least being the last of the group to re-sign.  Physical money wasn’t the issue.  The Colts simply made a choice.
    • Who has the best RAS score?
    • Frankly the whole Grigson era turned me off of making all the bold moves people want.  He would and they almost always blew up in the Colts faces.  He was saved by the fact he had Andrew Luck and he was just too good to be bad.  Ironically I think if Ballard had had Andrew Luck for his whole time as GM we would be looking at another golden era of Colts football and it would be have been interesting to note both came with the philosophy of build through the draft and reward your own.  Oh well if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we’d all have a Merry Christmas.
