At least 60-70% of the Bears' starting D was playing in pre-season game 3, if I am not mistaken, and he did well against them. If not for the Hentges fumble returned for a TD, we may have scored more on them. But yes, 100% of a starting D is definitely a different challenge.
These are all well and good, and I'm not saying Turner has 0 value. What I'm saying is he is getting outplayed by other players on the roster and the team would be better off trading him. For example, my claim is that the Pacers would be better off with Jaylen Brown, Sabonis, and Goga compared to Sabonis, Turner, and Goga. It's great to have a big who is a good rim protector and who can shoot 3s, but he has a worse RPG than Russell Westbrook, Richaun Holmes, Patrick Beverley, Rui Hachimura, and Rudy Gay. Every year, we've been waiting for him to have his breakout season, and he still can't average 15 PPG.
Just to throw out a wild thought, what if the Colts traded JB for Eli Manning and we drafted say a Jordon Love. I would rather have Eli tutoring a young QB rather than JB just due to the vast experience Eli has. I'll duck now and let you throw stones at the idea.
