Because predictions are fun!

QB; Luck, Brissett
RB; Mack, Hines, Wilkins, Williams
WR; TY, Funchess, Campbell, Cain, Fountain, Rogers
TE; Doyle, Ebron, MAC,
OL: Castonzo, Nelson, Kelly, Glowinski, Smith, Haeg, Boehm, Clark, Barton
24 OFFENSE

DL; Sheard, Houston, Hunt, Autry, Lewis, Turay, Mohammad, Stewart, Banogu
LB; Leonard, Walker, Speed, Okereke, Franklin, Adams,
CB; Desir, Wilson, Moore, Rock, Collins
S; Hooker, Geathers, Willis, Farley, Odum
25 DEFENSE

ST; Vinatieri, Sanchez, Rhodes

Last spot is a toss up for me between Hentges (3 TE seems light for this O), Green (if they want to play Banogu at LB), Thomas (if they play leave Banogu at DL)

It would  be interesting to focus on and monitor the "bubble" players.  Figure out the "sure things", figure out the empty spots , and monitor the individual races.

I'm really wondering which "sure things" won't make it , and who will surprise.  What a crazy , wonderful time we are gonna have in the next few weeks.

There are so many "bubble players" at so many positions.  Very exciting.  Many of these guys are rookues and 1st year guys, of course, but there is a feeling of excitement and optimism that i havent seen or felt in a long time.

This team is fast, confident, physical, and fearless.

Something special appears to be brewing:  Now if we could only do something about that darn calf.

Unfortunately, injuries during the preseason are a big part of determining who gets on the roster and who doesn't.

Other than the fact he played at Alabama, what exactly does Hentges bring to the table?

I think he’ll be thrilled to make the practice squad.   But people here seriously seem to think he makes the 53.

Is it possible?   Sure, I suppose.   But I think it’s a long shot at best.

Hes been making plays all over the place. I certainly never expected to see anything out of him when I went to training camp I didnt even know his name but there was consistently on player making big catches and plays left and right and it was Hentges. Maybe its just training camp hype? its hard to tell until we see him in the game but right now hes flashing so thats giving people hope he makes it to the 53 man.

That's what I've been hearing from the various podcasts.  I don't think I've missed a Bama game in years (daughter is a grad) and I never heard of him.  But he fits the Colts requirement as a blocker and apparently he has hands.

You never know with bama, I mean heck their back up RB was drafted in the 1st round. Could have been he was talented but was never allowed to play to his strengths.

My 53 matches yours, with these changes:

WR: -Fountain

TE: +Ross Travis (this might change to Hentges, but i have to see him first in a pres.game)

OL: -Barton, +Garcia

DL: +Ward

LB: -Franklin

I think the decision about last few spots will be hugely influenced by whom Ballard think can clear waivers (so he can be put in PS) and whom he thinks will be claimed if waived. That is the reason why I removed Fountain and didn't include Pascal, I think both have fair chances to clear waivers. At least way better than Cain. Same reason regarding Franklin, Tell and .. the 6th round rookie DE, I can't recall his name right now.

That offensive line is impossible to guess.  We practically get no info except who’s running with what team, and we know they’re gonna mix and match experimentally during TC.  That being said, i’ve got:

1) Andrews and Garcia instead of Boehm and Barton on OL.

2) Hentges at TE.  That’s not many differences on O.

3) Sheard goes to IR after making initial cut.

4) Keep Ward.

5) Adams gets cut and we go with 5 LB.

6) Keep Hairston.

Other than that, I’m exactly on the same page.

That’s great.   Very encouraging.   Hadn’t heard any of that.

Except some here here have been high on the kid since the day we signed him.  They saw that he played at Alabama and they’ve gone a little crazy.   He didn’t start for them.   He didn’t even play much for them.   But the Alabama name alone is carrying a lot if weight for many here.   Just my observation.

    • https://www.stampedeblue.com/2024/4/1/24118330/i-pity-the-fool-mock-draft     Trade Colts 2nd round (440)   For   Packers pick 58 and 91 (456)   Packers select Zach Frazier C West Virginia 6'2 314lbs Logic: Packers replace Jon Meyers who gave up 5 sacks and had a pff grade of 55.8   Colts trade pick 58 and Kwity Paye   For   Saints Marshon Lattimore CB 27 years old and a conditional 2025 4th (depending on snaps could be 3rd) From Over the cap The team trading for Lattimore would take on his contract as is. They would have the decision to either pick up the option to defer the cap charges or to simply take all of the hit in 2024. Here is the cost on the cap if the team picks up the option in the contract:   Year Salary Cap Charge Dead Money 2024 $15,000,000 $12,000,000 2025 $18,000,000 $0 2026 $18,500,000 $0 2027 (void) $0 $0 Lattimore has no guaranteed money in his contract after 2024 so there is nothing that would lock a team into him beyond this year. Colts Logic: We wanted some experience in the secondary. We wanted a shutdown corner. So we give the Saints a offer they can not refuse. In the first 2 rounds we address most of our defensive woes. Saints Logic: Saints are switching to a 4-3 defense this year and just let Michael Thomas walk. They have always been cap wizards but this may be the year to start a new with the changes listed above. Lattimore has only played 17 games these past two seasons and even though he's a top 12 CB when healthy he has been dinged up. Kwity Paye can start at DE until Chase Young is healthy.
    • Ballard should have never cut him. I want Ogletree on the team as well considering charges were dropped (I believe), but his whole fiasco with his fiance where battery might have been involved was way more of a sensitive topic and understandable of being cut for than Rodgers friend betting 1k on his account on a Colts run stat over/under. That's the worse thing Rodgers was found guilty of, and now we have Colts fans trying to convince themselves we need a RD1 CB pick after 3 were chosen in last year's draft...    He did a podcast detailing what he bet on with Franklin and Speed in case others haven't seen it. Much ado about nothing imho and it's obvious the locker room still like him/didn't think he was negatively trying to affect the outcome of games, and they would know best on that over anyone.
    • Yeah... I don't buy it... BUT... if there is someone you might have to take seriously about something like that... it's Jeremiah. Remember how he absolutely killed that last mock with predicting the exact trade and exact picks for the Texans? Lets see if he has similarly good sources on the Colts...
    • There're a couple of things that seems off about this to me.   1) The Colts moving up in the 1st. 2) Moving up for a CB after Ballard just spent the pre-draft presser complementing the CB group.
    • What he “projects” and what he would play are two completely different things. Idk why people sleep on DeJean, he’s going to surprise a lot of people wherever he ends up going. The kid is a DAWG.
