So, just to confirm, Andrew Luck is out today?

The secondary is in for a rude awakening once QB1 gets back on the field...

Not until he tosses The Duke!

I hate that Luck is out. It really is a downgrade from Luck to Brissett, and it affects Parris Campbell negatively because he can't develop chemistry with Luck. Also gives us an overvalued opinion of the secondary when it's Brissett who's making mistakes. Very hard to judge anything accurately.

OTAs aren't the only time they can work together, There is still mini camp and they can work out together before training camp

I hear ya, but they really aren't allowed to do very much in OTA's anyways. Very basic drills in shells and not always at full speed.  The meat of the offseason work and playbook installation is training camp. That's why they are cautious with guys in the spring.

Campbell can always workout privately with Luck like Rogers did at Stanford last year. Plenty of opportunities.

Not gonna lie... if we have to wait through the brutal 6 week stretch between OTAs & training camp just for Luck to throw a football, that will definitely annoy me.

Yes, and rumors will start to fly.

Has he thrown at all this offseason? I thought he was supposed to work with Tom House again in California, but I'm not sure if he made it out there or not.

I honestly don't think it matters. Andrew is fine. There is nothing alarming about missing OTAs

He and Reich have already both stated that he wasn't going to throw until OTA's. Implying that he would be throwing now if he didn't suffer the calf injury. I believe Kevin Bowen stated that he'll likely work out with House after the June mini camp and before training camp.

I agree, Luck will be fine. It's just frustrating and means OTA's are somewhat of a waste of time for the starting WR's, TE's, and secondary to a degree. Playing with Brissett does not offer the same benefits as playing with Luck, and the offense will have to do the same thing with Luck all over again later. I can't get into this, I'll just leave. Enjoy OTA's everyone.

I wouldn't say its a waste. Rookies and first year players are still getting valuable reps that they'll need to prepare for the season.

    • You are too emotional.   I was speaking of trading for an unknown.   So you would have been fine making that trade to draft Trubisky, who was predicted to go in the same draft position as Herbert?
    • Are you serious right now? Do you honestly think the Chargers would trade Herbert right now today for Buckner, Pittman and Taylor? Not in a million years. It sounds like you're suggesting that price would be too high for the Colts to pay?   Did you see what it took to get Matt Stafford? Do you hear what it would take to get Watson or Wilson? The entire NFL knows what half of this forum doesn't seem to understand - a franchise QB is worth whatever it costs to get them and you get them whenever you can. You know the best way not to give up 3 firsts and 2 seconds for Watson? Draft one yourself. Ballard knew 1000000% that Luck wasn't coming back last year and you're happy that he got a DT, RB, and WR instead of a franchise QB? If Ballard thinks a team will win a Super Bowl with average QB play that's supported by an All Pro DT he's wrong and so are you if you think average QB's win Super Bowls.    Its also so funny to me that in this SPECIFIC thread I hear nonstop that Grigson only got good results because he drafted a great QB. His record and playoff wins dont count because he drafted a great QB. Then why aren't you and everyone else on this forum destroying Ballard for NOT drafting a great QB? Heck that's all it takes right, just ask Grigson?
    • Restructures in this case would just convert salary into bonus, which reduces the player's cap hit in the current season. The player gets the same amount of money that season, he just gets some bonus money sooner. This isn't something players have a problem with.
    • At this time, I would too.   But it isn't as much of a gamble now.  Would you have bee fine with the same trade but drafting Trubisky, who was also mocked to go in the later half of the top 10.
