Jeez, you started the thread using CBS grading. Duh?

providing info does not imply agreement. you'd really benefit from a class in critical thinking or basic logic.

it's discussion board.. people post tweets, links, etc. all the time for discussion purposes.

I guess you assume that every time someone post a tweet, or any news, they agree with it?

Were you going to provide the grades from any other sources for comparison?

Why just CBS?

CBS was the first to publish grades with individual pick grades. I don't have ESPN+ so don't have theirs. NLF.com's and PFF has done a team grade/summary, but not an individual player/pick grades yet. But yes, if/when they come out with the individual grades, I had planned to post as well.

- You started the thread. That pretty much speaks for itself.

You never said a thing about more to come or if you agreed with them at all.

Then when I question it you accuse me of trolling.  Dude, are you serious?

You are quick to dispute anyone who may have a different point of view or a different opinion but don't let anyone dispute you. You then go into this defensive mode and start twisting things to suit you.

Carry on with being full of yourself. I find it laughable.

Happy to make you smile. Feel free to ignore me.

I figured this draft would not grade out well initially due to lack of big names from big schools but guarantee will look a whole lot better in 2 yrs.  Rock Ya Sin and Parris Campbell fit our system to a T and have the potential w/ measurable to be Elite Game Changers.  Both have first rd talent but need to be in the right system to excel.  Other picks all seem like projects to the naked eye but I’m not gonna question CB and his Staff after last yrs Hall of Fame draft.  Dumb on their part to do so.

How much do we fans and the media give Ballard a free pass based on what he did last year.

I have to admit a lot of my excitement this year rides on what happened last year

However it is indeed a fact most of what is on ESPN, etc is just dips with too much time to talk & too little knowledge and intelligence

I say you trust his judgement until his judgement proves to be untrustworthy.  Ballard had a decent but not spectacular draft in 2017.  His 2018 draft is looking spectacular to the level of being history making.  While he hasn't made a lot of big free agent moves, nearly all of his free agents lived up to their contracts save for Ryan Grant (who was on a prove it deal anyways.)

If drafts start bombing out, free agents not producing than I think you will see people questioning his moves a little more strongly.  But the record he has had as a GM has been so good that you have to figure that he likely knows what he's doing or has been exceedingly lucky.   Remember a lot of people hated the Darius Leonard pick.  A lot of people hated the Quenton Nelson pick.

I don't expect him to draft 2 rookie all pro's a year.  That's only happened once before in NFL history.  But if he gets 3 starters and 3 decent rotational/depth players out of this draft I will consider it to have been very successful.

Mel Kiper, Todd McShay and Mike Golic Sr. agreed the Colts had the best draft. Others hand it to NE and some to SD and one said Jags. Who cares? Kiper said the Colts will represent the AFC in the coming Super Bowl.

By the way the OP used CBS. I guess some here KNOW of a less useless source? All other sources are equally useless.

Oh come on guys, we are all Colts fans, regardless of our different point of views.

    • I would but would want a deal where it was a third round pick, but couldn’t see Saints doing that.  Woukd have a high end CB and still have our top two picks
    • nice     Edit:   Also both the trades mentioned here pretty much followed the draft value chart.     Talking trading up to #38 from #44 and offering a 4th   Difference in #38 and #44 is 60pts(avg 4th round value)   Ended up trading up to #41 from #44 for a 5th.   Difference in #41 and #44 is 30pts(avg 5th round value)
    • Our defense will never be GREAT as long as we play * defense by having corners 10 yards off the ball on 3rd and 3. And an unbelievable unwillingness to blitz more than 4 times a game. And also, it doesn't matter who is in the secondary if the front seven can't stop the run(we can) and get to the passer(we did ok getting to the passer, but we need more blitzing from lb'ers). Our first pick should be an offensive lineman like Fuaga, Powers-Johnson, or Barton. Then target a receiver like Polk, Pearsall, Washington, Corley, or Roman Wilson in the second or third rounds. As much as I would like to get Bowers I just don't see it happening. And we need a very good linebacker to go along with Speed and Franklin.
    • Yeah, could very well be. I think I remember Ballard said he did it to have more flexibility when asked. if it is Paye, I would rather see him play out the year before extending.
    • The idea of DeJean going in the late first round is due to his instincts and overall very competent play in nearly all aspects of DB play.  Cover 3 FS is more valuable, IMO, than a cover 2 FS.   Contrast DeJean's overall RAS and talents with Hooker, who was only good at being a single high deep guy...especially his rookie year where he picked off bad QBs for a while...and DeJean at 22 or later with a 3rd round pick gathered from a trade down is a much better decision than Hooker was at 15.   BTW, Blackmon had the same ACL injury as Hooker and did well as an overall S as a rookie, but wasn't a single high speed guy, and is probably still a better overall S now than Hooker is in DAL...both having the exact same injury years ago.
