This info is not from twitter.  I am from the future.   The pick is Christian Wilkins.

Now can you tell tell me where I can find Sarah Connor?

She is passed out somewhere by the farthest 7-11 gas station from Indy in the state, try to find her. :)

Remember a few years back when ESPN would put the cameras on the kids talking on the phone to the team drafting them and then celebrating with their families before the picks were announced? They've stopped doing that since but that was the worst draft to watch ever.

So the announcement hit twitter first, then it will be shown on TV with a short delay.. why not just wait to view the forum before it's on TV?

Am I missing something?

A couple years back, people were getting picks off the internet SEVERAL minutes before they were announced on TV. At one point, twitter was ahead by 3-4 picks.   They weren't the official announcements, often they were watching prospects' families or even the prospects' own twitter accounts for those leaks

The forum mods have said to wait until its announced by the commissioner on TV.

3-4 picks delay is understandable annoying I thought it was like 30-60 secs

No, it was WAY ahead.  The absolute worst year for it was the year we selected Dorsett, that got announced some 15 to 20 minutes prior by someone who saw it posted on twitter by either Dorsett's mom or sister, I forget which.

Multi-taskers.

i usually have both espn AND nfl channel on and i cruise internet (this forum, cbs, espn, fox etc ) for more player detail.

So i can see how it could happen.  I'm rather surprised there is that big of a delay actually.

It was bad and there were certain posters who started threads about the picks before they were announced

It should be!  ...and all posting should be suspended for the rest of the draft.

Just avoid this website for about 30 seconds leading up to the pick. Not that hard to avoid this type of spoiler.

Right, also not that hard to avoid posting that type of spoiler...

There is a special place in hell for those who share spoilers of any type.

It is literally in the name, you are spoiling it for others.  What is your (no pun intended) endgame here?!

So the live broadcast is on a delay?

I'm not really a big draft guy.   It don't matter to me.

Could I get a notification of who is drafted before it is announced "live"?

If we stay at 26,  I'll be in bed long before we pick.     I'll have a 25 page thread to read in the morning

I've seen the picks get announced on Twitter a full 5-10 minutes prior to them being announced on the live broadcast.

I want to understand it. I really do. Can anyone explain it to me?

For me personally, learning who the draft pick is a little early isn't that big of a spoiler.  I just want to know who the Colts picked.  Watching an orangutan touch a screen for the big reveal doesn't really do anything for me, so I get where you're coming from about the draft.  Once I know who the pick is, I'm just gonna go start watching tape of that player anyway.  I'm not sticking around for whatever Kiper has to say.

But if you really did just spoil GoT and Endgame for me, I'm gonna be really * off at you, dude.  Just say you were joking around so I can go back to being ignorant of what happens.  I support myself and don't have anyone to help share bills.  I've already got monthly bills for rent, food, insurance, phone, internet, etc. and I'm trying to save money instead of splurging on entertainment as soon as it's released.  I can't afford to go to the movie theater for every new movie release or to pay a monthly fee for HBO just for the four hours of GOT that will air that month.  I have to wait for more affordable options like once the season is over, I'll pay the fee for one month and binge-watch the whole season.  It's more economical that way.

But I still want to enjoy the entertainment the same way others enjoyed it at the time of release.  I want to be surprised by what happens, especially when it's the final season/movie in a series.  I'm emotionally invested in the story, and I want to experience it as intended, not secondhand from some stranger.  I have to use "selective vision" while on the internet before I get caught up on the same entertainment as everyone else.  I thought I was safe in a football forum, but apparently I can't even escape spoilers in a football forum.  :flaming:

    • Due diligence.  Kick the tires on anything you can and maybe you catch lightning in a bottle.
    • Mack got $90M gtd...I can't see Clowney getting close to that. I think it would probably be ~$60-65M...which is what Lawrence and Clark both got...and maybe not even that much.    It's not my money...but I would do it. The Colts have the money...and I don't think the Colts will find a better player to add to the team in FA...Clowney is a 3x consecutive Pro Bowler with double digit sack upside...heading into his prime...whose skill sets fits perfectly into a position where they have a long-term need.    To put it another way...I would much rather give Clowney a deal and add him to this team to try and win a Super Bowl...than spend that cash on extending guys 1-2 years before they are due. The Colts have a nice 3-4 year window where they can be a lot more aggressive.   Signing someone like Clowney will make a dent...but it won't hurt them long-term. There is a very good chance this team will have left upwards of $80M on the table over this four-year period. Right now, they have to spend $44M in cash next offseason just to get 89% (using OTC and estimating a $10M increase for the salary cap). They will make that up for sure (in FA and extensions)...but they have the flexibility to commit to a player like Clowney. I get being lean during those first two years...but not now.   The key for me would be the draft capital. If it's only one of those 2nds...I am very intrigued.
    • You can't believe everything you hear. He's perhaps just testing out market value
    • Well it did say in the article Ballard contacted the Texans about his availability.
    • Thank God Ballard is too smart to fall for this kind of noise. Looking forward to this season I think we have a fine team
