I have a difficulty believing that four offensive linemen would be taken in 12 picks. But if this winds up being the choice before us? Whoa!
Excuse me, sir. Would you like the Hope Diamond? The Star of Africa? Or the Light of India?
Van Jefferson is an interesting prospect. He is a really savvy route runner and has alot of quickness. He has alot of polish. He has an excellent tape versus LSU this year, especially hen he lined up on Stingley.
But he is a bit limited physically and probably doesn't have top speed. He is also going to be 24 this summer.
Keeping things in perspective. Tackles make more money than guards. Smith has done well there and might not want to move to guard. He might actually get better at RT as he keeps gaining experience. I like the idea of Conklin at LT where he has the chance to get better there and also make more money. If we can sign Conklin then we could draft another guard and see who wins the RG spot.
