Dolphins sign Ryan Fitzpatrick

I dont think tanking is a thing, but thats a controversial subject for another thread.  IMO this is purely a backup quarterback signing and the Phins are either trading for Rosen or trading up in the draft.

Josh Rosen is an enigma. Not sure how one would feel if a team is willing to give up on you after 1 year. Former coach calls you "entitled" in an indirect fashion, not sure what to think of him.

If Kyler Murray is drafted 1st by the Cardinals, Rosen is getting traded for sure for a 2nd round pick at worst. Cardinals probably want a 1st, I'd ask them to beat it if they do. They invested a 1st and if they want to get rid of him, it is their problem. They can figure out how to keep him and pay him.

Makes you wonder what is going on in upper management for the Cardinals to be in this turmoil. I thinks Arians only retired to get the heck out of the situation there. His comeback to coach in the NFL shows that.

'Entitled' was the knock on Rosen coming out, so the Head Coach shouldn't have been surprised.

Maybe the GM was.

Nothing like a good ol' QB over-reach in the draft.....when you don't need one.

17 QBs since Marino?! How many decades would the Colts or Packers have to back to equal that number? I thought the Texans were bad.

Both got extremely lucky.. I remember thinking good God the Packers got real lucky. But we basically got the same exact deal :yahoo:

Soo basically you're telling me the Dolphins will start out 3 or 4-0 and then lose the next 6 bench Fitz.. have him come back for a home match up against the Pats which they'll somehow win, then the following week throw 5 ints.

Fitzmagic, just enough to derail the 'tank for Tua' train?  ;-)

As for Rosen, if AZ can't get a decent (to them) deal, they can pay Josh his <5 million per year for the next 3 years while he holds the clipboard easily, along with Kyler Murray's pay; for less than many teams pay only their starter.

Well, in that time either Rosen acknowledges his place in the world, or proves his perceived place in the world, or wreaks havoc 'til he's gone.

I think New England would be a great place for Rosen to go.

Eh, he'd get more face time with Kraft if he went to Miami.           :)

Funny thing about "Fitzmagic" is Minkah fitzpatrick filed to trademark that term when Ryan Fitzpatrick started being called it.  Should make for an interesting locker room convo.

Good for Fitzy.  Guy has to be one of the most under-appreciated players in the history of the league.  Has an Ivy League education, and could probably take a desk job anywhere he wants in a front office (and likely will at some point IMHO), yet continues to grind it out on the field and play above expectations everywhere he goes, and yet continues to get moved.  Plus he has one of the best beards in the history of the NFL.  Good for him.

    • I agree with u.  People on this forum just look at stats.  I have watched the film and he is poor in coverage and gets blown up in running plays.  I think he is to light.  I also think Leonard believes his own hype and   is playing for stats.  Call me crazy.....but would not b surprised if we have 2 lbs ready to take advantage of their opportunities.

    • NFL Game Day in Indianapolis is finally here Colts Nation!    Our 2019 Indianapolis Colts are back in Downtown Indianapolis as they host the Atlanta Falcons in the first of four NFC South interdivisional opponents the Colts will play during the 2019 NFL Regular Season. Atlanta is playing a regular season game for the first time in Indianapolis in eight years, and Sunday afternoon's game is the 17th all-time meeting between the teams.   After two games the Colts are #2 in the NFL in Rushing Offense, and yards, led by  Marlon Mack with his 225 yards.   Also an interesting battle of quarterbacks, with the Colts Jacoby Brissett and the Falcons Matt Ryan leading their offenses. Atlanta offense also is sparked by WR Julio Jones and RB Devonta Freeman.   Indianapolis by far has the most current  winning percentage over any NFL opponent to start their home schedule of the regular season.   Colts lead the series at 14-2, and with their .875 percentage over the Falcons after 16 games.  Colts probably would have had a record of 15-1 instead when  the Falcons last visited Indianapolis.   Colts QB  Peyton Manning  though was sidelined the entire 2011 NFL regular  season because of his neck surgeries, along with Manning being placed the Franchise Tag.   Indianapolis will certainly perform better than they did when they played Atlanta at Lucas Oil Stadium (the building) back on November 6, 2011.  Falcon's Matt Ryan outdueled the Colts Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky with completing 14 of his 24 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns.  Two of his TD's were in the air to Julio Jones from 50 and 80 yards, and 1 yard to Tony Gonzalez.  Defensive back Jerraud Powers 6-yard interception return for a TD in the second quarter, was the only score for the Colts as Atlanta defeated Indianapolis 31-7.   Indianapolis avenged their loss when they defeated Atlanta in their last regular season visit to the  Georgia Dome back on November 22, 2015.  Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck threw two separate TD passes from 7 yards and 2 yards to Ahmad Bradshaw, plus a 6-yard INT return by Colts LB D'Qwell Jackson, to help the Colts tie the game at 21-21 with 10:07 remaining in the fourth quarter.  Adam Vinatieri kicked  43-yard  game-winning field goal  with 8  seconds remaining, to help the Colts defeat the Falcons 24-21.   LOS's retractable roof could be closed to keep everyone inside cool and comfortable, for this afternoon's 1:05 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, because mostly cloudy skies at 84 degrees, feels like 85 degrees, is the gamecast outside the stadium area, along with 15% precipitation, 47% humidity, and southwest winds at 15 miles per hour.   Head Linesman Alex Kemp leads his NFL officiating crew to supervise the live game action on the LOS playing field between the Colts and Falcons.   NO injuries the Colts and Falcons players,  win your second game of the season in front of your loyal fans, and LET'S  GO COLTS!!!!!                  https://www.colts.com/game-day/2019/reg-week3/falcons-at-colts/
    • I could be wrong, but I think he started slow last year as well.  It will come.  Our defense will shine this game.  Opening day they will be pumped!!
