Tampering is upon us!

Let Desir test the market, but pay him to stay.

He's shut down Hopkins (twice) and Cooper when asked to. He's better than what most give him credit for.

I also want Collins in a Colts uniform, but I feel like the Colts will end up with Amos from the Bears (not a bad option either) for some reason.

...and what do you see that price as?

Yeah... it's weird. LTs will get paid, but IMO they sold a MUCH better offensive lineman in Osemele for peanuts and paid Brown like he's a top 3 OT in the league... he's not... he's not close to being there.

I'd have to watch film and see what guard play he worked next to.

Still trying to figure out what following Twitter actually helps?

It's not following Twitter. It's following people who post news on Twitter. And the reason is because they post news on Twitter.

The most annoying part of this early FA period is when they say something like... Colts and Falcons in bidding war for Player X and 3 hours later we hear they signed with Miami...

Players have to be loving today's pay scales. All you have to do is be average it seems and get to FA.

I had him in my mock off-season to the Colts. I pegged him for 4M... :D How naive of me.

A small percentage is news. Most, by far, is conjecture. I don't discredit the actual news that is posted.

In all, social media as a news source may be far quicker that traditional media, but it's drama and inaccuracy rate is off the charts.

After these first few days settle and we miss on some of the big names that get these massive overly inflated deals, we will then have a ton of money to suck up multiple middle tier guys and build a much more solid team....team being the operative word.

Ballard talks a lot about building depth, and this is exactly how you do that.

Twitter is great as an aggregator of news sources you trust. Just make a list of people you trust as sources and follow that list. For example I made myself a "NFL Free Agency" list and I'm following whatever pops on there in addition to this thread.

Again... not his real account. And Schefter is the #1 IMO. Rapoport gets had all the time.

    • I remember watching tape on Blackmon shortly after the Colts drafted him. I was intrigued by what I saw from him and could see why Chris Ballard wanted him in Indianapolis. Blackmon plays very fast and always seems to be around the ball making plays both in coverage and as a tackler. Unlike Malik Hooker who is a one dimensional player, Blackmon is a more all around player who won't hesitate to take your head off.
    • I'm an old guy and I remember him and was watching the game live when he got hurt on a tackle by CB Kermit Alexander of the 49ers, a hit at the knee.  He was my idle and a great breakaway threat RB.  I think he was averaging 6.2 yards per carry at the time of injury, having a great year.   I was a Baltimore Colt fan and we beat the Bears 28-7, the Bears 7 points was the highlight run they always show of him, he was trapped on an end run by a few Colt defenders and he cut inside of Bubba Smith and was off the races on a long TD run.  He cut back ability the best I've ever see, was smooth and had excellent speed. One of the greatest.  Can see him on Youtube highlights, I done it several times, just for some feel good memories.   Brian Song was great too.
    • The coach is always the coach, not always right but always the coach. All QB's have ignored their coaches on occasion.
    • Jet's are last in the league in total O and are dealing with injuries to three of their starting OL, and all of their starting WRs. Bears are 23rd in total O with the 22nd OL, but has a decent run game (which we have a good run D)   We have not played, and will not play, an OL ranked better than 22nd, until we play the Browns in three weeks.   If we are go into the Browns game #1 on D, even if our D is just average, we might be able to hang onto #1 for another 2 weeks.    Wakeup call on 11/08   OL Preseason Rankings for all scheduled opponents at Jags #26 Vikings #23 Jets #27 (C, LT, and RT are all questionable) at Bears #22 at Browns #6 Bengals #31 at Lions #16 Ravens #5 at Titans #15 Packers #4 Titans #15 at Texans #19 at Raiders #11 Texans #19 at Steelers #9 Jags #26
