I'm not even sure it's a trade Miami would accept but there's no way he falls near our draft spot

Don't be blinded by measureables. Review his tape and then tell me why u think he is worth what u have suggested.  Some home work for u.

According to draft values chart, the 13th pick is worth 1150 pts.  It would take the equivalent of Indy's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks (1150 pts) to equal that type of value.  Miami would want Brissett plus pick(s) to move up that far.  

 

Fortunately, there will be a plurality of WR1 level talent at 26 and 34.  All said, sure I'd like a shot at Metcalf!

26 plus Brissett doesn’t give us Miami’s pick.   No matter WHO we end up taking.

  I have reviewed his tape  and others.  He has an explosive does step that no one has.  He is 287 and did well in the bench.  His strength was a concern.

The buzz us splicer has slipped to mud-first round status.   Perhaps 10-16.

 

Doesn’t mean he can’t work his way back up with a good Combine and pro day.  But he may have some work to do.

Ballard probably couldn't say yes fast enough. It wouldn't be for metcalf though.

A playmaking WR is Definitely a Big need but like mentioned above Ballard and Miami wouldn't do it.

IF Ballard could pull this trade, I'd rather him trade back and load up on  a few extra top 50 picks than take Metcalf. He could be legit, but so could some of the receivers that will fall closer to 50...

1. Brissett and our first wouldn’t get us Miami’s first. 

 

2. If it magically did get us their first, I wouldn’t use it on a WR. The only way I’d want to trade up that high is for a stud Dlineman.

The answer is two fold. Yes, I'd make that trade. Heck yeah. But I wouldn't take Metcalf or any other WR. I'd be grabbing either the highest rated 3 tech or the best pass rusher still on the Board. Its basically supply and demand; those guys don't last past the early stages of the first round.There will be some excellent WRs waiting for the Colts in round 2.

If I were Ballard I’d happily make the trade.... but I would draft the best 3-Tech DT or Edge Rusher available that we’ve valued in that range.

I don't like the idea of trading up for Metcalf and I hardly think he's that much better than the other crop of receivers, if he's even better than them now.

He has good measurables but the tape doesn’t lie. He is still what he was pre-combine. A low first round receiver in my eyes.

 

In Ballards most recent interview he literally says ‘don’t get blinded by the combine, watch the tape’.

If I’m going up that far in the draft, it’s going to be for a difference making defensive line guy period. 1.5% body fat sounds like lots of injuries to ligaments, joints and hamstrings to me. Their are several big wr’s with potential top talent in the draft this year. Just feels like they’ve been overshadowed by the talk of the plethora of defensive talent that’s available this year. I’m not giving up my 26 spot for a wr, may be willining to come up from my second 2nd round pick to get someone who falls into the second though.
