That priority is already taken care of.

And we did bring back Mudd, today as our Top Offensive Assistant...so we now have TWO great O-Line coaches/teachers (they are in the mold of teaching/coaching up talent...just imagine what they can do with the talent we already have!)  We had the top QB sack O-Line several times when Mudd was coach, and we had 2 undrafted guys, a 4th and a 5th rounder as starters...the only one picked in the first 3 rounds was Glenn at LT and he was drafted before Mudd was coach... so this will be awesome to see what he can help do with the top talent we have!

I know that i'm excited about the two guys we now have in charge of the line

LOVE the enthusiasm tho.

If we could get a stadium full of "him" on gameday, we'd have the best home field advantage in the league.

If this had been posted in the "Howard Mudd" thread it may have been received differently from the forum members.

Nah, everyone got what you were alluding to.  It just read as odd, coming on the heels of such a dramatic turnaround, the idea of any "behind closed doors" demands to protect Luck seemed pretty silly, even if posted tongue-in-cheek, the circumstances, added to the fact the OP would have fit in fine in the existing thread, were sure to lead to the OP being roundly panned.....  No harm though, I'm sure we both agree we're glad to see every avenue STILL being explored to improve the OL further even AFTER such a great season, no reason to be complacent!

I’m confused.   Are you saying that one of the top three priorities from Irsay was to protect Andrew?

if so what are the other two?    I’ll hang up and listen to your answer

    • Maybe Denver or Washington due to cap space. I'm hoping we get a player in return if he ends up going anywhere. I wouldn't complain about getting a pick either.    I can get behind this but not just for DeAndre Baker maybe a pass rusher or interior D-line will fall.
    • If DeAndre Baker falls past Denver, I wouldn't mind trading pick #26 and Brissett to the Dolphins in order to acquire him. That would be a deal both teams might agree to if the Dolphins are indeed interested.
    • He's my favorite FA or even early round pickup at WR this offseason
    • I laughed when seeing "QB" listed as a team need on OnTheClock 2019.  That being said, I have to wonder if it's worth taking a flyer on a QB like Kyle Shurmur and either deal him or Brissett going forward.
    • Having faith without knowing why is "blind faith". At least when I supported certain picks that Grigson chose (like Dorsett), it was because I thought they were good and I was wrong. It wasn't because Grigson was our GM and I felt an obligation that I had to "follow" his every move. He did have 3 straight winning years and advanced further each time, but it became apparent by the end of 2014 that his drafting and FA signings were poor (besides the early part of the 2012 draft), and Luck was carrying the team. Luck got hurt afterward, but it's not like Grigson's drafting or FA signings got better. We were a team carried by Luck and the previous regimes players from 2012-2016. I didn't notice it completely until after the Pats AFC Championship game where we were completely outmatched, but I did notice poor patterns before that (especially missing on 1st round picks).   I'm just saying that the people who say that Ballard knows more than other "armchair GM's" would also say the same about Grigson, so they were merely guessing and were right on Ballard just like they were wrong about Grigson with "blind faith". I don't know, that line just bugs me a lot. Most people who say that also don't predict ahead of time who is good and who isn't, they are extremists in an either positive or negative way, and both are poor viewpoints IMO. Ok, rant over!
