If you’re drafting DeAndre Baker then I don’t think you need Bryce Callaghan. Especially if Desir returns as well. I think the chances of Trey Flowers hitting the open market are very slim. Elite pass rushers don’t hit the market very often.

Also don’t think you need to bring back Chester Rogers or Zach Pascal if you’re bringing back Inman, signing Williams and then drafting Brown. Remember we also have Deon Cain coming back as well.

I doubt Bushrod accepts that contract and I don’t think he’d take a backup job to Glowinski.

I like it for the most part. I haven’t done a whole lot of scouting for the draft yet so I can’t really comment on the picks yet.

I agree with you on Flowers. Can never have enough CBs imo

I brought back Pascal and Rogers to create depth at the WR spot and get some competition going

I'm a big fan of Cain but he's unproven

I like Tyrell Williams and would like to get him at that price, but I think that is where the  bidding starts and he likely end up with more.

Would also like Trey Flowers if he hits the market, but he will likely cost a lot more than your estimate ... Spotrac has his FA market value at 5yrs /~ $76.8 million.

This will go for any mock this year, but im not a fan of taking a CB early in the draft. With the way our scheme is setup it is designed to be "cheaper" for CB's since it is so zone heavy that we aren't relying on a corner back  that is a physical freak, therefor they are easier too come by. If we want to help our secondary, picks and money spent on the d-line for pass rushers will help more than a top CB.

Oh man does that look good on paper. Getting flowers in FA then Wilkins in the draft, yea sign me up for that. Drafting brown is just icing on the cake. Kid knows how to get open. Throw in Austin Bryant who’s very underrated due to Clemson’s Dline talent. Yep I like it.

That's not necessarily true. The last time the Colts ran a close variation of this defense they had 1st and 2nd round corners (Jackson and Hayden) playing in their defense. Quincy Wilson's physical attributes is exactly what they Colts are looking for, especially when they want to run Cover-3 Quarters, which has man coverage responsibilities. No, you don't grab zone corners if you're drafting in the top 15-20, but the end of the first and especially the second is where the top end zone corners are typically drafted.

If it is truly BPA then whatever, also if there is a strong need for one which i dont believe there is. Quincy was brought in before we made the switch. FWIW I am all in on being a heavy cover 3 team, we have the safety to do it and I personally am not a huge fan of heavy tampa defense. A pass rusher or even possibly a WR is more important in my eyes than running a cover 3.

I wouldn't sleep on both Clemson DL

Marquise Brown is just about TY Hilton 2.0

But I understand where you're coming from

Oh, I'm not sleeping on any Clemson D-line man. There is about a 0% chance Wilkins falls into the second. I have serious doubts he falls down to us in the first

    • I kind of lean toward keeping Kelly. OL depth is still an issue the Colts. You can still draft Haynes or frazier later Both starting caliber Center/Guards later in the draft. Let AR get his feet under him with an experienced OL.
    • The rules are set up for offensive people  to prosper. Also defense isn't  that bad to begin  with injuries and offense  not staying on field long enough  also affects that. Drafting an offensive  play maker helps offense  stay on field and keeps defense fresher.
    • No thanks. A good starter + $12m is too much for a third round pick.
    • Exactly!! The market has spoken and most likely Simmons and his agent overvalue his worth.  One thing we know about the NFL, they will overpay. They go hard the 1st day and overpay and most teams spend their money. The money is usually gone and the dust settles. Got this from PFF who most people love on this site.  "It’s important to Julian Blackmon is a good player, but the free agent is far from perfect. His 68.3 PFF grade made him the 38th-best safety out of 95 eligible players, but that’s largely due to his coverage abilities. The safety missed seven tackles last year, finishing the season with a below-average 59.2 grade against the run. If teams are looking for a box safety, Julian Blackmon is not the free agent they should be targeting. However, in today’s pass-happy NFL, you need a player who can discourage deep shots" What i find alarming from this is Blackmon's strengths are suppose to be against the run and weakness against the pass lol
    • I don't know either way but someone with a history like his and has been in rehab "at least 15 times" it is not a stretch to assume it was an overdose. I had no idea he was only 64.  I thought he was closer to being in his 80's.   Last December, police were called to Jim Irsay’s home around 4:30 a.m. ET and found him in bed unresponsive and cold during what authorities called a "suspected overdose." However, the Indianapolis Colts owner denied the authorities' report. "It wasn’t an overdose,’’ Irsay said to Fox 59 in Indianapolis. "I don’t know why when you have your name in the paper in the past, people throw that out there quickly. I don’t pay attention to it all that much, but I don’t think it’s fair."   "It's a long road and you have to be patient. The great news is everything is going well," a hospitalized Irsay said in March after he underwent a procedure on his right leg. The leg procedure was performed in an effort to improve Irsay's mobility. The 64-year-old also revealed that he has undergone "26 surgeries over the last seven years." The billionaire was the subject of a "Real Sports" interview with Andrea Kremer in November, when he said he has been to rehab "at least 15 times." He also mentioned a near-death situation that gave him an epiphany.    https://www.foxnews.com/sports/colts-owner-jim-irsay-denies-overdosed-police-found-him-unresponsive-december
