Brandon Graham, Sheldon Richardson, Aaron Lynch, Benson Mayowa for DL

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have PFF access and tell me if any of these 4 guys would be worth signing to the Colts next year? I just am leery of totally not having any vets on the DL and relying purely on the draft for DL help since DL, like OL, takes some seasoning to reach peak performance.

I know Brandon Graham is 31 but he still has a good 2 or 3 years left, I feel. Sheldon Richardson played well in the Vikings' 4-3 and would be worth a look, IMO, he is still only 28.

I know Lynch and Mayowa may have played in the 3-4 more but I feel they would be good fits for the Colts' defensive system in situational roles, just going based on the eye test whenever I saw them play.

Let me know what you think and what information you have that would help. Thanks.

Chad just google. Type anyones name and pff.
Gives us a little something to add to our FA research.
Click on the PFF link and you can get their grade. There is a short piece on Graham that will show he would be a solid add.
All of your guys have grades that look promising.
I agree about the need to look hard for a couple vets this off season.
DL and LB are definite target spots that will be on CB's short list.
Just me, but i see Hunt as rotational backup material, if he is back.

We Must add a stud inside someday.  I know we all have that in our Colts Aaron Donald Jr. Dreams.  :spit:

M. Jackson, Suh and Ansah will all most likely be available too.

Age, injuries and attitude are causes for concerns with them.

Sheldon Richardson would be a good one. Such hasn't done squat this year even with Donald beside him

Hey, 2 of the guys on here that I wanted are already signed up. Let us see how the other 2 go for low cost signing.

Is Benson Mayowa re-signed with the Cardinals? He did visit both the Cowboys and Colts last year but signed with the Cardinals.

Blatantly untrue to the point of hilarity.

59 tackles, 4.5 sacks. Right now, he's playing in Wade Phillips one-gap 3-4 defense, not 4-3 three technique. It's no coincidence that Aaron Donald had by far his best year with Suh in the lineup, and DOUBLED his number of yearly sacks.

To the best of my knowledge..

Mayowa is still unsigned...    and yet no word of a visit with the Colts.   I confess I’m a bit surprised.

Ask Aaron Donald if he thought Suh did anything.
He attributed a lot of his success to Suh's presence.

That was posted in Jan. It was in response to the cruising through the year and turned it on in the playoffs talk. Which worked in all honesty. Made it to the SB

    • But it's his only year. It would be one thing if he had a couple decent seasons and then last season. But it was his first season...and it was historically great. That's the only data we have so far. At this point, no proof exists that he isn't already a great QB. That's what has to be proven...not the other way around.   Luck had a great rookie season...but if he had done what Mahomes did in his first season...I think nearly every Colts fan would have put him in the top 5. Or any other top QB for that matter. I don't think there should be a double-standard for Mahomes.
    • Has he been charged though? I realize the investigation is ongoing...but I don't think he's been charged with anything yet. And if that doesn't happen...the NFL won't really have any additional information because they (law enforcement) have already said they won't share that information with the NFL. So basically, they would be going off that audio and interviews they conduct with Hill after the investigation.   Trust me...I am not saying it's right...it's just how I think it might play out. Without charges...the audio will garner a multi-game suspension on its own...but then he will be back.
    • Ballard has also expressed the importance of getting a pass rush up the middle.  His release couldn't have come at a better time and his contract shouldn't be prohibitive for Ballard.  If he really is serious about playing for a contender he and his agent should recognize the obvious match with the Colts as his best chance at a ring.  A no brainer from my point of view.  Of course I tend to have a bias on this sort of thing.
    • Makes sense to look... he fits for the most part.     Our pro personnel department already has (most) every player (those to soon be FA, or a cap casualty, etc...) scouted, and placed a 'value' on them.  We'll talk to the agent and see if we are in the ballpark before any real talks begin.     We won't be in a bidding war, is what that means. Ballard has proven to fold up the tent once the $ get above range.  Doesn't matter who the player is.  But there first have to be steps taken, and that is if what we might pay is close to what they may accept.
    • Lucky,    It is not worth the effort, it's just not.
