Remember, the Pats are winning with James White and company.  In other words, they still win with scheme and coaching and scheme fit players .  We played much better with scheme and coaching this year so hopefully we continue to get better in that vein.

Yep.  The Patriots are at the bottom of the draft year after year, and they keep going deep into the playoffs.

the lack of pass rush and this being the first year under the DC put the corners at a disadvantage IMOP, As the year went along the corners got better.

moore and wilson are still very young too, especially wilson .  no one expected them to be day one starters but they were both good down the stretch

This is the tentative Colts draft order... Minus the final order being set and Compensation Picks being awarded....

26, 36, 58, 90, 122, 154, 186, 218

You have a typo in the list of our draft picks.     Our 1st pick in the 2nd round, the one from the Jets, is pick 34, not pick 36.     Double check me.    Don't take my word for it.    But I clicked on your link and that's what I saw.    Pick 34.     I'm seeing that on other draft sites as well.

Otherwise,  thanks for providing those draft pick numbers.    More information is ALWAYS a good thing.

the draft value chart says our first, and the jets pick could get us to the 10-12th pick range in the first

thats higher than i would have expected, i would consider making a move like that.  maybe trade brissett in this draft too, i like him but it could make business sense

The draft is so deep with DL talent it's better to have more selections than to move up imo some one good will drop to us and good players at other positions will drop cause of the run on good DL players

I agree we should trade brissett tho

You are correct. I typed it wrong. I noticed it later, and tried to change it but it was too late.

Lots of capital to work with this offseason. Mission 1 for 2019, reclaim the south.

Oh yeah. We're on the long road now, but plenty to look forward to. Homefield and byes matter. I hope we can run up the wins next season and clinch the top seed. I think we can.

That happens to me all the time.     I feel ya!

Didn't use to be that way....    but sometime earlier this season,  the mods changed it, so once you have written your post,   you have 30 mins to find your mistakes and fix them.    Otherwise, they're out there for all the world to see and read....     I've got way, WAY too many mistakes on full display.

And some of them are pretty embarrassing!     Yikes!     :peek:

I hope that we win enough games to make it to the teams with a bye week, It's great to win your division, but you need to win it and get out of that wild card round or your making your journey a lot harder. To be a division winner, and to still be in the wild card round, just doesn't  cut it!

Is it looking like the best value at No.26 might end up being a WR? Do you think that true impact first round interior DLs are hard to find at the top of the first round? Just curious.

I dont think WR will be the best value. You know teams are gonna over draft other positions like usual and push better Dlinemen down the board. Positions like OT QB honestly I can see WR being over drafted this year the way some teams draft lol

If a WR is going to boost your WR corps considerably over a DL for our rotation, it would be hard to sit in a vacuum and say "this DL is rated slightly higher than this WR, so you go with this DL" to me. It is not truly need based drafting but BPA close to need that does not drastically alter your board.

We will see how things play out in FA. I do not want to use a first round pick on a rotational DL that is not a 3-down guy and is just a specialist.

I agree if that is all that's available I'd pass as well. I want a 3 down guy too hopefully one falls to us. I'm not on the trade up train either I want the most early picks we can get.

This.

I think they take the best non QB, tightend, kicker/punter, or center on the board.

Everyone is playing catch up to them. Having the best coach in the league and a HOF QB with system stability is a big part of it. One without the other, BB without Brady or Brady without BB, would not have nearly the dominance you get from them now. You could have wins and playoff "appearances", just not playoff wins and SBs at that high level without both of them being in unison.

I was going to hold onto this thought, but I will go ahead... It is VERY early, but I have a gut feeling that Christian Wilkins could be available when we pick at #26.
