Lmao that’s like those baseball stats says “the team is 20-0 in home games played at 1:00 PM  and is sunny” aka a pure coincidence.. lol  I mean that logic we won it the last year Clemson won the national title as well..

If you look at 2012, and 2013 as well, Alabama won those years but before the BCS instituted playoffs and the Patriots did not make the SB in either of those years. So, you have a 6 year sample space. But then, if you go back 1 more year, Alabama was not even in the championship game with Cam Newton and the Auburn Tigers in the 2011 championship game, and the Patriots did not win the SB.  

 

Most of it has to do with the Patriots having a 10 year hiatus for winning a SB between SBs from 2004 to 2014 and going to 3 SBs since 2014 winning 2. So, you end up cherry picking the sample space. 

 

It is fun to discuss those things though. I am game for patterns and all this weird occurrences stuff.
