Tampa, Arizona, Washington (maybe)

WSH would surprise me. They are such a mess off-field, cap-wise, rosterwise, FO-WISE, everything that they probably can't get better coach than Gruden (who I think is ok/average).

Agreed, but I wouldn't be surprised if Snyder makes a change for changes sake.

There has been talk that Arizona is cleaning house -- GM and head coach are out.

Yes, I heard Wilks had already had a team meeting and informed them all he will not be the HC much longer., then got the axe. Currently there are 7 HC openings...  as of this post.

Browns, Packers, Jets, Bucs, Broncos, Cardinals, Dolphins.

Any more?

Marvin Lewis is out in Cincinnati. After 16 seasons his time has finally come.

Suppose McDaniels pulled the same thing on the Packers as he did to the Colts. How can he be trusted?

There is not one reason proving McDaniels will succeed as a head coach considering the history of Hoody's assistants. What a joke that it took 16 years to dump Lewis.

It's too bad. I think coaches should be given at least 3 years. Why would you fire a rookie coach with a rookie QB? Makes no sense to me but thankfully I don't have to root for them or the Browns.

Having said that, lots of Vikings fans want Zimmer out. Not me. I blame the GM more -- for signing Cousins and not improving the OL. But I want us to keep both GM and head coach. I'm not a fan of Cousins though. If we did not have so much money tied into him, I'd say cut our losses and start Kyle Sloter.

John Harbaugh staying is a smart move (was there really talk of him getting canned?).  Marrone staying in Jax is somewhat surprising.

Flacco getting hurt was harbaugh's best move of the year.....

Looks like Vance Joseph (Denver) and Todd Bowles (Jets) will be let go Monday.

Adam Gase stays in Miami …..

Any others?

Gase was just fired,  Lewis is out in Cinnci,  Bowles, Joesph, all out. Wilks is out.

add in the Packer's opening, we're looking at 6-7 teams with new coaches next year.  Odds are, they look at Matt... ugh.

Exactly. The guy is a very good to great coach. I would take him over almost any head coach. I'm a huge fan of John Harbaugh, not so much Jim.

Broncos will go with a seasoned guy and might go with Dave Toub, I feel, who is familiar with the division and several players on all the AFC West rosters.

8 coaches fired and counting. Bye Eberflus.

He won't have a shot with the packers or broncos

The Browns, cardinals and jets will go with an offensive HC due to their young quarterbacks.

Dolphins will probably throw big money at a name....like The Rock.

That leaves one team.....the Bucs.

Elway is a pest. He’s been going  after John Harbaugh as HC. He’s been causing problems for a long time since he dissed the Baltimore Colts in the draft. He snagged Peyton Manning from the Colts, then took Gary Kubiak from the Ravens, after he said he wanted to stay in Baltimore as the OC. The man is an irritant in the same realm as Belichick, Brady, and anyone connected to the Steelers organization.

Let's hope he decides to stick around for another year or two. With the exceptions of Green Bay and possibly Cincy, the rest of those openings are either already locked up, or flaming outhouses, just waiting to claim their next HC victims. The only way he should even consider any of those would be a fully-guaranteed, five-year deal at $6-7 million +.

I get what you are saying, but my point is Elway has been a constant thorn in the side of Baltimore since 1983. He has also been pesky in Colts history be it Baltimore or Indy. I will always treasure when Jacoby Jones caught that ball in the playoffs and wiped that toothy smirk off his face.

Anyone think that Adam Gase will find another HC job for 2019? AZ? DEN? CLE?

He will be the next OC of the Browns, if they do not land Mike McCarthy, IMO.  He was hamstrung by Ryan Tannehill, and that cost him his job.

The word is that Gregg Williams is out and Mike McCarthy, Josh McDaniels, Eberflus, Sirianni are all given interviews, and Gregg will be as well, I read. Dorsey is doing an extensive search this time.

Baker Mayfield has the Browns on the map and the coaches willing to coach the Browns again.

Elway's seat is getting hot too. Ravens should just pony up the cash and extend John Harbaugh, he is in the driver's seat with the current market, IMO.

Along the lines of Harbaugh who had an ST background, that is why I feel Dave Toub will be a good HC with an eye for all details regarding the guys from offense and defense he has to mesh together on ST. Vic Fangio is like the Bruce Arians "no nonsense" mold that will get a call as well for HC, IMO.

With Harbaugh, it can cut both ways. Harbaugh is firmly under contract for the 2019 season, but word has it that he may want out for big money. Bisciotti put pressure on Harbaugh to get to the playoffs this year , and it worked. No one is really certain if the Ravens want to keep Harbaugh long term, or Harbaugh wants to leave for a new challenge , or big money elsewhere.

I think this was one of John’s best coaching jobs this season. 4-5 and Flacco out, and they totally redesigned the offense under Lamar’s style. John is a good coach. I’m hoping he works out an extension.

    • This is spot on. Small market, and people want to think a St Elmo's steak, the combine and Manning's legacy is enough for people to want to just come to Indy to play. We don't have the night life, climate, roster or tax breaks to incentivize anyone to come here.  So the only way to do it is money.  We would automatically have to mark up every offer we want to make by 5-10% to have a chance at most of the top guys.  And the unfortunate reality of first tier free agents is that their value already gets marked up 20% to that players actual worth, so Ballard is probably out before the real negotiations are even taking place. We can afford to do that move for like ONE marquee player when the roster is ready....but not now, not on a good player who hit free agency because their former team didn't find them important enough to keep them.  We can never fall back on the fact that a we can lure a player here because of external factors.....because those will typically work against us. There was extensive discussion about this on page 48 of this thread.
    • Yeah, his athleticism is from another planet.     To bad he doesn't believe in it(anything outside of the Earth). That media availability at the combine, didn't help his draft stock.
    • If they stick to that logic:    Tyler Owens SAF Texas Tech 12’2”   The broad jump record of 12 feet and three inches belongs to former Connecticut cornerback Byron Jones, who set the mark in 2015. Jones went on to be a first-round pick and it’s likely in part due to the explosive athleticism he showcased in this very drill.    He almost tied the record for longest broad jump
    • This. Ballard has already traded a first round pick and got an additional 2nd. He had to trade out of the first round and the 2nd was the following year. I believe it was with Washington.  I’m with you. I highly doubt any team will give up their 1st and 2nd or 3rd for the 15th pick.
    • Yep Love at first sight is a real thing. Congratulations Anthony and Jada.
