Rather the Texans win South?

If the Colts win/Texans lose, we will win the AFC South. Colts win/Texans win, the Colts will be the 6th seed with the Texans likely being the 3rd seed granted NE wins.

Would you guys rather play the Texans on the road or the Chargers at home?

In all likelihood, we would be the 4th seed if we won the AFC South as Baltimore owns the tiebreaker.

This would be the last thing I would want in my opinion:

Wild-Card:

4.) Indianapolis vs. 5.) Chargers

Colts Win.

Divisional Round:

4.) Indianapolis vs 1.) KC

VS

Wild-Card

3.) Texans vs 6.) Indianapolis

Colts win

Divisional Round

2.) Patriots vs 6.) Indianapolis

You should always want a home a playoff game regardless of who they play.

Not to mention that if we get in as the 6th seed and win we are 100% playing the #1 seed the next round. Which in your outline would the KC and not NE anyhow.

So it is really just home against SD or road against Hou for the debate

That's a good question.

I'm not overly impressed/affraid of Rivers & Chargers and would love a home playoff game BUT we have a ugly playoff history with them(pats & steelers too) and trends in the nfl usually repeat themselves. Atleast Sproles is no longer with them lol.

Let's beat all three. Chargers Pat's and steelers

I would be happy to play in Los Angeles because they have no home field advantage and I heard the weathers nice there.  (Also Chargers are 5-3 at home but 6-1 on the road)

I never even thought about them having no home field advantage in a sense. I guess we’ll see how it all turns out.

I would be a lot more confident playing Watson and/or Tom Brady(this year’s version) over Patrick Mahones and Philip Rivers, two of the top three MVP candidates this year. As for Sproles, agreed lol. Always wish we had him on our team in the Manning days.

Honestly we would have to play the chargers at some point anyways so might as well knock them out first thing

The Chargers have some holes

The Ravens pointed those out

If we can get in to the playoffs we have a shot to beat anyone

If the team shows up that beat up on the Cowboys and Titans....... We would beat anyone in AFC or NFC

If the team shows up that played the Jaguars, we will be one and done.

Same team...... but two different levels of play

I believe in addition to the great play in those games, we also had great coaching

(Right Offense plays at the right times and correct defenses dialed up correctly)

To go anywhere in these playoffs we need to have the perfect game called and executed

I love that they’re out.  I can’t wait for the year the pats miss

Out of likes but I agree. The Steelers are so annoying. From AB to Big Ben, to T.J. Watt doing sack dances when he didn't even get the sack, and also Mike Tomlin for not keeping his players in check (even though his stupid fake punt call gave the Saints the win...). To be honest though the refs screwed them bad on multiple occasions, but now we have a shot at the playoffs!

The Steelers get their fair share of calls at home, the Saints and Patriots do as well. Colts, under Peyton, got calls at home too.

Some infamous ones are the Cromartie pick six called back due to holding in the Chargers 2007 playoff game before the half, the Polamalu INT reversed in the 2005 Steelers playoff game etc.

Does Mike Scifres still play for the Chargers??? Nope.....then let's play a home game!

Was exactly what I was thinking. As long as Sproles doesn't trot out of the tunnel either I'm ok with playing them.

This is a strange year, it truly feels like any team can win it all.

I like the Chargers/KC path, personally, and I like the Ravens going to NE.

If we win, the Ravens win and the Jags lose, we win the division and the Chargers come here.

The plus to not winning the division - don't have to play the Pats next year.

What ever scenario gets us to play KC.  I think we match up a lot better against them. The games I've seen from KC.  They rely a lot on big plays on offense. We are known for not letting big plays happen we allow short yards not the bombs. I think kc won't be able to win if they don't get the big plays on us honestly

    • Rick Venturi today on the radio said he is more of a fan of speed with corners then what Ballard has done. He said young corners have to be able to recover from mistakes. I would almost like rodgers instead of Brent’s.
    • BBZ, what do you mean when you say Brents will be successfully targeted because of his size and speed? Aren't those his good traits?
    • Right. But we also are expected to draft a corner, So the fact that DeJean can play either position, makes me think Ballard could have his eye on him.
    • As a Ballard type player, he seems to fit the bill.  Big 10. Excels at zone coverage. Elite athlete. Special Teams standout, Good tackler. etc. Colts may be able to trade back, and still land DeJean   Considered one of the Safest picks. Seven 2024 NFL Draft Prospects Who Are Safest Bets to Succeed at Next Level https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10113875-7-2024-nfl-draft-prospects-who-are-safest-bets-to-succeed-at-next-level   DB Cooper DeJean, Iowa   A fractured fibula during a November practice tempered any excitement regarding Cooper DeJean's draft status. So he's not been in the same conversations as the class' top defensive backs, specifically Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell and Alabama's Terrion Arnold. DeJean's profile projects just as well or better than the aforementioned cornerbacks.   Three specific attributes set DeJean's floor higher than anyone else among the back end.   First, the reigning Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year presents the positional flexibility and traits to start at cornerback or safety at the professional level, with B/R's Cory Giddings highlighting his coverage skills:   "DeJean excels in zone coverage, but he's versatile enough to play man as well. He shows a smooth backpedal and the ability to keep his leverage and quick footwork with few wasted steps. Although he transitions well, there are times where DeJean hops into his breaks; allowing a step of separation.   "When in zone, DeJean does a great job of reading and reacting to the quarterback's eyes. Pairing that skill set with his route recognition, he often puts himself in good position with leverage and positioning.   "While working downfield, DeJean has the strength necessary to hand-fight with tight ends and bigger receivers, as well as the speed necessary to carry twitchier receivers downfield. He also does a very good job of locating the ball and playing through the catch point."   Second, the high school track standout is an elite athlete who captured Iowa state titles in the long jump and 100-meter dash. Many expected him to blow the doors off Lucas Oil Stadium. Unfortunately, he wasn't ready to test in Indianapolis after being cleared a few weeks earlier.   "His acceleration is incredibly fluid and super powerful," NFL combine trainer Jordan Luallen told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman last summer. "He's the best athlete I've seen in person, pound for pound."   Finally, DeJean adds significant value as an elite collegiate returner. Big Ten coaches also awarded him Return Specialist of the Year this past season. DeJean averaged 13.1 yards per punt return over the last two seasons. A top-notch contributor anywhere along the defensive backfield and on special teams will provide excellent value in the NFL.   Potential Landing Spots: Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles
    • He could, but I think he's way more athletic than people give him credit for and projects way better as CB. Definitely could be a good safety, but I think if we drafted him, he fits well as a boundary corner for us.
