Colts Vs. New York Giants Game Day Thread

Recommended Posts

We could NOT look any worse!

Look completely unprepared or interested.   Players AND coaches alike.

Hugely disappointing.

The rest of this game will be a big test for this team...,

Let's forget about Darius Leonard maybe getting 40 tackles. Lets worry about Colts D holding Giants to less than 40 points.

Giants are just casually walking all over us.  Apparently we are tanking for a better draft pick or something.

We are not coming back from being 14 down. We might as well call it a game. This is what happens when you have young players. They got arrogant. We will lose and the Steelers will lose so it won’t matter.

Best shut the G'day thread down then...

The worst part is that this is not even surprising.......we did this against the Jags except they were garbage on offense so the game looked close.

its still only 1st quarter but the team is just not even remotely focused.

It looks like communication is spotty and some guys don't even know what they're supposed to be doing. Both sides have been playing undisciplined ball so far.

Times like this that I really miss Peyton. He would be jumping on some players right now and getting folks motivated.

I honestly had a bad feeling about this game.  Giants had nothing to lose.  Beckham wasnt playing and there was no way we would lose this game. We got all the national attention as being the team no one wanted to play if we made the playoffs.   Eberflus was possibly getting head coaching interest. We were at  home.  That usually comes back go haunt a team.  They r young.  If they lose they will hopefully learn from this if they go on to lose this game.

It's still the 1st Qtr, we see bigger points swing week to week.

We're not playing well for sure, but the sky is falling stuff has gotten old in Gameday.

And to top it off Leonard was on every show this week. Just seems so much better flying under the radar.

It was a small concern of mine that he might play a bit too fired up today after his snub

Giants didn't stop us the first two - we stopped ourselves.  We can and will get points.  Defense needs to toughen up and quit playing like we're up 30 points.

That was a bad first quarter. Too many mental mistakes.

When you have a team playing above their potential, (low on actual talent) then you can't have mental mistakes, otherwise, it's too much to overcome. Hopefully they get it together the next 3 quarters.

The colts just got a lot of attention this week.  Honestly  I  didn't like Leonard's comments bout getting snubbed and getting 40 tackles.  That is bulletin board material and put a the emphasis on the individual rather  than the team

Seems a little extreme to me. Maybe a good tongue lashing.

    • Yes, but my point is the game was never in Brisett's hands to win the game. The run game and defense carried him, but unfortunately we are not the 49ers to be win consistently like that.
    • Aiyuk will likely go somewhere between 2nd and 4th based on the mocks I've seen. Not sure I would use that kind of draft pick on someone to be just a returner and gunner. I think he's got high upside, so would expect most teams to look at him as a WR2 or 3 at slot, or perhaps even a 1 at Z. If he improves vs the press and gets better at attacking the ball, he could be really really good. As a fan of Herm, I watched a decent amount of ASU, and the kid can play (if used properly)   At returner, I'm very happy with how Hines did at PR. Also liked what I saw from Dulin at KR (only a few opportunities). Pascal also had pretty good numbers at KR. Keep in mind we ended up #1 in the NFL in PR AVG, and #13 in KR AVG, so not really a huge need. The only thing I want to see change a bit is the willingness to return (instead of touch back or fair catch), and that's likely coaching, not player. I'm always happy to improve if we have someone on the roster that's better though, just not sure I'd draft a guy in an attempt to improve returns.
    • As far as a father goes from what I have seen he loved his daughters so he was an excellent loving father. That adds to his legacy. On my latest top 10 greatest players list he made it as I had: 1. Michael Jordan 2. Magic Johnson 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. LeBron James 5. Wilt Chamberlain 6. Larry Bird 7. Shaq O'Neal 8. Kobe Bryant - I have him here, see below is to why 9. Bill Russell 10. Tim Duncan   -Kobe = 5 Championships in total, a League MVP in 2008 and really should have 2 as he got ripped off in 2006 when he didn't win it averaging 35.6 a game. He also won 2 Finals MVP's and won 2 Championships without Shaq in 2009 and 2010. His 2nd best player was Pau Gasol when he won the 2 without Shaq. Kobe was a global icon and loved around the world. When he passed away it was like Michael Jackson or Elvis passing away media wise. It has been insane today on the news, that is all anyone is talking about.
    • It doesn’t matter how many yards you throw for. It matters if your getting a few big plays during the game.  Before injury he was hitting open guys and making a few big passing plays. After injury not so much.    He probably has a little bit of a higher ceiling just with healthy and upgraded weapons. But it isn’t high enough to get us where we need to be.
    • Global Icon regardless of sport. Mamba mentality
