this is soooo disrespectful i think Q will be great but i've never seen anyone like Larry. Heck Larry's story alone is like the movie Blindside he came up very very rough. Larry would throw people and move people like rag dolls. He transcended the position hard to call him a generational player might be a once in a lifetime player. He was a freak. I think he ran like a 4.8 forty in the 90's at 325+ think about that. He could bench 700+ when he would pull he would almost murder people. People feared him from day one. If ya'll have time take a stroll through some youtube reels and even in these videos you don't get the full picture. Some people called Bruce Matthews the best OL some folks ever have seen. But Larry Allen is like the (Thing) from the fantastic 4 playing Guard in the NFL.

Its not disrespectful at all. Q is pancaking everyone already just like Larry did. And Larry didnt run a 4.8, he was more like a 5 flat, which is incredible for a man of his size. But I dont think Q is far off that himself. He is really quick in his own right, and even bigger than Larry.

In case you havent noticed, Nelson is also feared from "day 1" as you put it.  Trust me, everyone has taken notice of this kid. I am fully aware of the absurdity of the comparison, and I absolutely know how good he was, but Nelson is doing things I have only seen 1 other guy do. How could I not compare him to that player?  He still hasnt even had a full year of NFL Strength and conditioning yet, give the kid a couple years of that and see what happens. Larry Allen 2.0

You are remembering Larry Allen (possibly on steroids btw lol), at his peak, and comparing him to Quenton Nelson as a rookie. I am just comparing the two as rookies, based off physical attributes and pure ability.

I love Q....very happy we have him. Not going to lie I wanted Chubb who also is having a fabulous season but not going to complain now. That said before we go comparing him to HOF lineman let's see him sustain this level for a decade or so before putting him up with the legends of the game. That said certainly he has played at a pro bowl level this year and is well on his way to an incredible career.

It was a Cold rainy game against the Jets , It was the  annual Jets - Colts game back in the old AFC east days. I dragged my friends to it,  at this point in the season the Colts have failed to get a victory, we snuck  up to the front, the stadium was empty, two crappy teams in crappy weather,  I had a crew of friends who bought tickets outside for five dollars We spent the whole game screaming,  "Baldinger "" Baldinger' he was into it, earned everyone respect, Ill never forget him going wild, waving his hands,   the Colts won that game, it was the only victory of the season,

    • This is spot on. Small market, and people want to think a St Elmo's steak, the combine and Manning's legacy is enough for people to want to just come to Indy to play. We don't have the night life, climate, roster or tax breaks to incentivize anyone to come here.  So the only way to do it is money.  We would automatically have to mark up every offer we want to make by 5-10% to have a chance at most of the top guys.  And the unfortunate reality of first tier free agents is that their value already gets marked up 20% to that players actual worth, so Ballard is probably out before the real negotiations are even taking place. We can afford to do that move for like ONE marquee player when the roster is ready....but not now, not on a good player who hit free agency because their former team didn't find them important enough to keep them.  We can never fall back on the fact that a we can lure a player here because of external factors.....because those will typically work against us. There was extensive discussion about this on page 48 of this thread.
    • Yeah, his athleticism is from another planet.     To bad he doesn't believe in it(anything outside of the Earth). That media availability at the combine, didn't help his draft stock.
    • If they stick to that logic:    Tyler Owens SAF Texas Tech 12’2”   The broad jump record of 12 feet and three inches belongs to former Connecticut cornerback Byron Jones, who set the mark in 2015. Jones went on to be a first-round pick and it’s likely in part due to the explosive athleticism he showcased in this very drill.    He almost tied the record for longest broad jump
    • This. Ballard has already traded a first round pick and got an additional 2nd. He had to trade out of the first round and the 2nd was the following year. I believe it was with Washington.  I’m with you. I highly doubt any team will give up their 1st and 2nd or 3rd for the 15th pick.
    • Yep Love at first sight is a real thing. Congratulations Anthony and Jada.
