Colts @ Jaguars Game Day Thread

Recommended Posts

Greetings, Colts fans!  :default_20smile:   Oor 6-5 Indianapolis Colts are playing their first road game since their 42-28 win at the Oakland Raiders, as they are in Northeast Florida to play the 3-8 Jacksonville Jaguars, who are trying to end their own seven game regular season road losing streak.

Indianapolis has already i,proved from their 4-12 record in 2017, and in their five remaining games, seek to reach the playoffs since both winning the AFC South division and 11-5 record back in 2014.

The NFL in December  unusually  scheduled our Colts to both play their  remaining three road games at their AFC opponents cities beginning this afternoon in Jacksonville, and later in the month at Nashville and Houston.   Colts two remaining  at the real Lucas Oil Stadium for the regular season are hosting NFC East inter divisional opponents - the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.

Indianapolis earlier defeated Jacksonville by the score of 29-26 at LOS back on November 11, ending the two-game losing streak over the Jaguars.  Colts scored all-their game scoring and lead in the first half 29-16.  Andrew Luck completed 26 of 38 passes for 320 yards, and 1 INT.

The last time the Colts won exactly and only a six-game winning streak was during their 2007 NFL season.  That year, the Colts won their first seven regular season games, and won six straight in the second half, finishing 13-3 and were AFC South Champions.

Indianapolis also won their last 10 regular season games in 2008, and their first 14 regular season games in their 2009 Super Bowl season, to complete that year 14-2.

Indianapolis also  leads the all-time regular season series entering today with their 23-12 record in the 36th meeting..

NFL had campaigns for Breast Cancer in October, and Salute To Service honoring our US military personnel in November, and throughout  December NFL players were be wearing custom-made shoes they will wear on the field in the 'My Cause, My Cleats, campaign for public awareness  their personal causes.

Mostly cloudy skies at 72 degrees, is the game forecast inside TIAA Bank Field, for the 1:05PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 15% precipitation, 91% humidity, and south/southwest winds at 12 miles per hour.

Head Linesman Alex Kemp leads his officiating crew to supervise the field action this afternoon between the Colts and Jaguars.

NO injuries, go for your win # 6 and finish 7-5 and counting in 2018, and LET'S GO COLTS!!!!  :coltslogo:  :1colts: :colts:  :coltshelmet:   :coltslogo:    :D

Thanks LOS, Colts win this one and win BIG! I will say 31-16. The win will give us 6 straight which hasn't happened since the 2009 Season. 7-5 will put us in great position to make a push for a Playoff spot.

Yep, it would be a perfect Sunday if we win and the Browns and Falcons win. We would be sitting real pretty at that point.

What a great day to wear the Shoe!  We're above .500 and looking good going into this game.  Hope the guys aren't shaky from not having been on the road for the past month, and playing on grass.  We may need to shake off a little bit of "road rust", but I'm going with a 35 - 10 win for the guys in blue.c

GO Colts!  All day.  Every day!  :coltshelmet:

I'm going to apologize right now. I've watched all of the games we won and I can't watch today. If we lose, I take full responsibility.

Still showing 3 TO's for us, so I think yes.

Surprised that Clark is inactive, he played well as backup and also at TE during bunch formations this year.

We taketh...we give it away.

TERRIBLE throw by Luck.  AC or Nelson lost their containment, though.

What a horrible star on offense. Run, run, pass for interception.

Jaguars still have a defense. Those were just bad play calls honestly

Nelson whiffed. Bad.

Luck has to learn to throw that ball away. While he is better than he was, he still hasn't learned to not force a play. Field position would have been the right play there.

    • Not sure why you're trying to push back so hard....   1.   Making 3-5 times more money(maybe more?)  for doing less work is typically all it takes to get someone to change their job or career.    That alone is typically enough for most people.   But you can add to that....   2.    Whether it's Southern California, or if it was New York,  it's one location and that beats the life of a scout who is typically away from home more than half the year staying in not great hotels and putting in 12-16 hour days in far away places.   3.    He doesn't have to worry about having to uproot his family again because his team didn't ahve a good year.  Jeremiah was a scout for 3 different teams.   That's three moves for the family. In his TV job,  he's not going anywhere.   4.    He's likely doing a fair amount of his work from the comfort of his own home.   He can view tape at his home.   And he has a staff of people that help with the show he works on.     5.    He gets to pick and choose when and where he goes on the road.   Doubtful he has someone giving him orders.   He's likely his own boss.      6.    Far less stress.    It's not do good or get fired.   To be clear,  he has to be good at his job,  but it's easier in ths setting than it is as a scout.    No one is looking over his shoulder and breathing down his neck.    Life is good for DJ.   If you don't like him,  or like someone else more,  great.    Follow them.   But I'm not aware of any anti-DJ movement either from complaints coming from the NFL or from media observers.
    • Conklin’s really only had two decent years, both bookending his time in Nashville. He’s going to be an example of a guy getting paid way too much after a contract year breakout. I’m assuming he sets the new bar on RTs salary this offseason, not getting paid as much as Solder did a couple years ago, but at least matching him as a free agency bust. Plus he’s only played RT in his NFL career so I certainly wouldn’t look at him as Castonzo’s replacement.
    • A respectful reminder....   Jeremiah is going to do a number of these,  and some names are going to fall off the board and some new names are going to pop up....   So,  odds are he'll do one before the Combine...    then after the combine....    then after the Pro Days....    and then likely right before the draft...     And with each new one,  look for the new names that appear and the old names that leave....
    • Well, I do recognize that at his draft, Conklin was also projected as being a rock at guard. It was surprising to me that he was made into a RT.     Still though, sign him ... then either he or Smith becomes our stud RG.   Either way, with the replacement of Glowinski, by a red chip player, the Colts OL would become, by my estimation, even hugely more formidable!   Go Colts!
