Colts Vs. Jaguars Game Day Thread

This is Blake Bortles and we r making him look like a top tier qb.  We cant only blame   the lack of talent.  This D is not showing any signs of improving.  In fact it is regressing every week

Basically our pass-D is non-existent.

Corner is the number one priority in the offseason. They are scared to play man because they get beat deep like what Moncrief did in the first quarter, so they play zone and give up easy first downs. Corners being able to cover can fix that problem.

Offense is going to have to keep scoring or we will end up losing this game.

Where is that rush we had the first couple games? Without it, we are awful.

I haven't heard Margus Hunt name in weeks.

Tbf he's managing a second string quality defense. With our poor quality, we should expect a performance like this nearly every game.  I think he can't be judged fairly until he gets a decent group.

Plus the Jags (2nd/3rd ranked defense in the NFL) is playing worst.

Killer penalty, killer drop.  How many times have we said that this season?

I agree some wat.  He was being touted as the next best thing. I know they r under manned but I don't c them playing above their talent level.  A great coach can do that

 Hope that makes sense?

Tampa 2 is food without a pass rush. I hate It

Even with elite pass rushers like Freeney and Mathis it is suspect. It’s just not effective anymore.

It will be interesting to see how D's evolve with the accelerated rate of O we're already seeing this season with rule changes.

Crappy qb (Bortles) meet crappy D (Colts). Why is it that the crappy qb is looking like the top tier qb? Shouldn't they kind of balance out??

    • When all you're holding are 9's and 10's, you don't win many hands of Eucre.  Yet every week, Reich comes back to work and says, "Ok, guys, let's see if we can make a banquet out of saltines and mayonnaise."
    • Two other notes :    How the heck do you keep Baltimore Colts / Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula off this list ? NFL Champion 1968, Super Bowl Champion 72 and 73. He should be on this list. I guess he has to pay for the Super Bowl 3 loss.    I would expect Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison from Indy to be on the list.
    • It's funny because people said the same thing about Lamar coming out, which is why he barely went in the 1st and was a projected Day 2 guy. You never really know. Hurts has improved every year in college, and imo his floor is a Dak Prescott type player, with a poor man's Lamar Jackson being his ceiling. He is having a Heisman type year and really only has one legit NFL guy to throw to. It will really come down to who drafts him, and how willing they are to tailor personnel and scheme to his benefit.    What's interesting is how similar Lamar's last year at Louisville was to what Hurts is putting up this year:   Lamar: 59.1% Completion, 3660 yards passing, 27/10 TD/INT, 146.6 rating, 1601 rushing yards, 18 TD's   Hurts: 71.8 % Completion, 3634 yards passing, 32/7 TD/INT, 200.3 rating, 1255 rushing yards, 18 TD's   Hurts had a better year passing with 12% higher completions, a little better TD/INT ratio, and about 60 points better passer rating, but Lamar ran for about 350 more yards. That was my thinking as well, Lamar a slightly better runner and Hurts a slightly better thrower of the football.
