Too Many Holes

People are acting like we are getting blown out every game. We aren't. We have a really really young football team. We have been in every game. We seem to be really good at finding ways to shoot ourselves in the foot though, hence the record.

We're not that young in comparison to most other teams. There's months in it rather than years. It's not a valid excuse in my eyes.

Finding ways to lose isn't a positive to me. It's a sign of a losing mentality. You don't have to get blown out to be a bad team in exactly the same way you don't have to win by 2 scores every week to be a good team.

Rick Venturi says we're a young football team BECAUSE We chose to be.

Your eyes did not deceive you.  The Colts are a bad football team that lost to another bad football team with a rookie QB.  The idea that we could be competitive simply with the return of Luck is now a myth.  There are simply too many holes to fill on this team and it will take years to fill them.

Excuse me but could you explain how the jets are a bad football team when this is Sams first year being a QB? did you assume our team was bad when Andrew started his first year with us? besides that last week the jets almost put up over 400 yards rushing on Denver of all teams so please enlighten me

Browns when they were 0-2,000 these past 2 seasons weren’t getting blown out. Still stunk though

Rinse and repeat. Do it again next Sunday.

THAT is who we are. This excuse has been thrown around for 3 years now. At some point it’s not “when” we finally do it. It’s “if”.

I hope we beat the Bills and Raiders which would put us at 3-5. The Jags and Texans play each other next week. I believe the Titans play in San Diego. Then the Texans play the Dolphins week 8 while the Jags play the Eagles. We can only hope. This team is bad, but not as bad as their record.

Doesn't take years anymore. And if you can’t fill them by next year. Time to say Ballard is a failure.

They have too many holes because Ballard has done nothing, NOTHING other than the bare minimum to plug those holes.

For example going into the season with Hilton and a bunch of nobody's or a WR core is inexcusable.  Especially with so much FA money left over.

Who did Ballard not get? People forget FA is a two way street.....

I must be the only one optimistic. Never thought I would like losing as long as we look good. Besides Patriots game we have dominated most of the games this year. We definately need to add pieces to our roster. Hooker made them pay for a mistake most other teams just avoid him. I am optimistic because of what Mack showed. I am optimistic cause we shut there dominate run game. I think our CBs are exposed but it is something on the To Do list this off season. With our stars on offense out we still moved the ball. Still have a good chance of going 6-2 after bye week. As long as I see improvement I'm happy and I have.

I admire your optimism, I just don't share it.  Luck isn't anything close to what he once was, and if you recall, everyone, and I mean everyone including media, coach, GM and owner pinned their hope for success in 2018-19 on Luck's return.  Defense has no pass rush, was shredded again by  a rookie QB with no more than average receivers, and our receivers and backs cannot catch.  Sorry, I was, am and always will be a Colts fan, I just also need to be a realist.

Sorry but consistently "shooting yourself in the foot" is a euphemism for a bad football team with too many holes to fill.  Good teams don't shoot themselves in the foot, they shoot the other team's foot.

Truer words could not have been spoken.
