Colts Vs. Texans Game Day Thread

Need to get 3 here.

If we stop turing it over and stop giving them short fields, the D can hold them down.

1 minute left in the half with 1 timeout. This is the perfect time for a dink and dunk offense...lol

I don’t think he’s the problem today, drops and no protection or run game.

Its all the friggin turnovers man.  They come at the most inopportune times and almost always leads to points for our opponents.  Sigh.

I don't get why Luck is being blamed. Peyton and Brady would be doing terrible behind this o line today too.

He's barely been given a second to raise the ball to throw it...

Can you remember when we had a offense and everybody was screaming for a better D? Well.... We git that now. But the O....

Well, remember, defense wins championships.  It doesn't matter what your offense does as long as you have a good defense.  Of course, it's a lot easier to say ridiculous stuff like that when you have a good offense........

Turnovers are killers...

But 1 is a complete outlier and the other was a complete whiff by the O line.

Watt looks like Watt today. Scary.

That Ryan Kelly fumble killed the momentum our offense had and gave all the momentum for Texans

Don't forget that punt that put them there .

Class move by Watt who came over to congratulate AV on his achievement.

He is definitely not the problem no idea why everyone just piles it on him!! he has no weapons other than TY that can get separation no to mention they are dropping the easiest passes.

Down 21-10 at Half, still doable but very disappointing. Not what I expected.

Besides being a fan, what about this offense makes you think we can score and win this game

But everyone was an advocate of not signing any FA WRs because it meant saving money. This is the result of the bargain shopping that Ballard is applauded for

Yeah, just like every 5th rounder has little chance to make the team.   You really need to look up the word hyperbole.

Im a fan.

But i also saw a proper drive to open the game today, have seen Frank Reich make proper adjustments this year, and have seen Andrew Luck down two scores plenty of times to know that they can win this game.

Just don't turn it over and play steady.  The offense gave them all their points with turnovers and short fields.  The defense can hold them down and maybe get a turnover.

Can Andrew Luck finally carry this team? If he can't a decision will be looming...

Finally? Or do you mean since returning?

Or Deon Cain!

Deon Cain would be our starting #2 right now.

Dorsett looks good in NE. His speed would have been good in this scheme.

    • That's an interesting question. Per Spotrac: "Chad Kelly signed a 2 year, $1,230,000 contract with the Indianapolis Colts, including an average annual salary of $615,000. In 2020, Kelly will earn a base salary of $750,000, while carrying a cap hit of $750,000."   However, per John Dixon: "the new CBA eliminates unlimited practice-squad salaries. All practice-squad players are paid a fixed weekly salary established under the CBA — except for Group 4 players, for whom the CBA establishes a minimum and maximum salary. In 2020, both are $12,000 for Group 4; all other practice-squad players will be paid $8,400 per week. In 2022, the Group 4 salaries must be between $15,400 and $19,900, while all others will be paid $11,500."   So I wonder what happens with the 2nd year of Chad's contract (and several other PS players across the league).
    • I'm not so sure he would survive on the PS.  Last year we paid him a significant salary to keep teams away.  This year we won't be able to.  If he has a good camp and preseason I could see him landing as a backup somewhere even with Cam out there.  I would bet a number of teams would be interested especially at what his contract would look like.  Maybe even the Patriots.  I believe at the end of this year if he was on our roster he would be a restricted FA not unrestricted.  That would give us a little more control and might be an additional factor on keeping him on the roster this year.
    • Yes the new CBA changed that. Except for a couple veterans you can keep on the PS and pay more. Basically Kelly would be getting a 150k pay cut.
    • Most reports coming out have Hoyer starting over Stidham who isnt ready, as we saw last year Hoyer is done, shot,Curtis Painter level.....who is their go to wr ? Sanu ? M Lee ? N Henry ?  Go to rb ? Michel laid an egg last season with 3.7 yards per carry and now D's will load up even more vs their run game .  The talent simply is not there, they tank for a season and try and reload with Lawrence and bring in a few Free Agents. Brady isnt there to save this outmatched squad. Go to Vegas and bet the under on wins which is 9.5, they wont reach 10 wins, not even close, easy money trust me. I know a few of you here followed my XFL bets and cashed in with me on over under on the games coming in under consistently..cash in on this one as well.
    • Question:   Who says we can’t pay our favorite PS players more than the basic price?    We did last year.    Kelly made roughly $500k, the highest of any player in the NFL.   Did that change?   Is that no longer allowable?   Thanks...
