Colts @ Eagles Game Day Thread

Recommended Posts

Too easy, yeah this is going to be a LONG game.  Er, well pretty quick if the Eagles keep having a field day on our D and the offense keeps going three and out.  I should say ugly.

Easy as it gets.

I suspected this might be the case.  Today,  you might as well just let Luck gun it and play Arians ball.  It's probably your only hope.

Looking at this thread....

Remember...  the Eagles ARE the defending Super Bowl Champions.   And Wentz is Luck 2.0.

They are really good.   Really talented.

Feels like this game won't be pretty. The Eagles are just better at every position... which is why they are defending champs.

Carson Wentz looks great so far.

We let a rusty Wentz cake walk into the end zone on his first drive back from injury. Guy hadn’t even thrown a meaningful pass all year.  Hopefully that’s all he gets.

"His first career receiving touchdown, only his second of the season."  Does that make any sense to anybody???

The TD went to Zack Ertz.   He has caught many touchdowns.

EDIT NOTE:   The TD went to Dallas Goebert.   A rookie.    Sorry 88 vs 86.   My bad.    First career TD.

    • I don't disagree at all, just some semantics.  I think all would give us the same level of play as JB at the least, not so much an upgrade immediately.  Also, JB did not throw interceptions and I see Love probably throwing down field in a risky fashion more than the others when it comes to taking care of the ball.   Since I think we would be getting the same level of play, but with upside to get better, I don't see an issue with taking any of the top 5 with our 13th pick, provided that the bottom 2, Fromm/Love have some of their concerns answered before draft day.
    • Just for fun, I’m staying a case for Jake Fromm.  Imo, Fromm is the most mentally tough, the best leader, the most accurate and the most battle tested from playing and winning in the SEC for 3 years.   He is 35-7 in his career starts. He is 9-0 against his rivals Florida, Tennessee and Georgia Tech. He is 3-1 against Auburn. His only losses were to Alabam, LSU, Auburn and overtime loss to South Carolina. Perennial powerhouses in the nation.   Jacob Eason could never get his starting position back from Fromm and Fields couldn’t take it away. Top recruits in the nation.   Renner of PFF said his highly efficient play is a direct result of his being one of the nations most precise passers . At the time of the article he was the nations highest graded QB by them. Ballard and Reich said they valued mental toughness and accuracy. Fromm is number 1 in both categories. If they had said a live arm or something like that I never heard that from them.
    • Yes he was drafted before Eberflus.  However if u listen to Ballard's post draft comments,  he did not view Hooker as scheme specific.  He thought Hooker as the cats meow.
    • If trading our 13th pick along with Hooker and probably more doesn’t land us Burrow, then I’m not interested. Burrow is the only QB worth trading up for.
    • Assuming you are thinking of trading up for a QB.   Probably the only two that I think would make sense and that would have some value to another team would be JB and Hooker.  But then we are simply in a position of having to use another draft pick on a FS and then find another backup QB.  Not sure there is a net gain there than just using the draft pick on finding Hookers replacement as the trade bait.   Do we have another FS on the roster that can take his place?  Or sign somebody in FA?  That's the only way it would be an advantage to trade him, IMO.
