What are you expecting?

Recommended Posts

This game is going to be interesting: I just heard Kyle Brant (GMFB) say he sees the Eagles winning big.

Our fan forum, for the most part, sees a tight game with the Colts having a chance to “steal one”.

I can see it several ways:  the Eagles moving the ball and playing great defense to win easily, a tight game with either team winning or the Colts dominating and winning big.

The Eagles fan forum raised the question of who was the creative force behind their championship: Reich or Pederson?

The fans/atmosphere will be intense but I’m hoping Reich has a great plan to shock the world and give the Colts a W.

I think the Colts have a punchers chance. If we can limit bonehead mistakes we can win. I don't see the pigeons blowing us out.

I think if we were at home we would have a legitimate chance but, being on the road and Wentz being back means I think just a bridge too far right now for this growing team.

I will say it will be a great opportunity for our rookies to go up against a phenomenal test and see where they are.

I predict something like 24-20 Eagles, but another strong performance.

The beginning of the game will be loud with cheering, screaming fans. By halftime they'll be booing and calling for Foles.

At the end of the day the whole league will know "the Colts are not who we thought they were."

Neither teams are the same from last year.  I see the Eagles taking a step back while the Colts improve. Would be a close game but I see us winning this one.

I hope the Eagles run an offense similar to what we saw in DC. Short passes to get Wentz comfortable since he has not played at all. Our D is built for that and will allow for some good stops as long as we stay disciplined. They are down a lot of offensive weapons and this can help us. We just need to be ready on the offensive side because they have a good D. I like Reich in this matchup. He seems to prepare well.

Doug Pederson doesn't play that way, he is not conservative at all like Jay Gruden and Alex Smith. If he has Wentz in the game, he will roll out and take plenty of 20 yard shots, IMO. They would even go max. protect and force us to play single high safety to run from it, and take shots down the field. While Wentz may be a bit rusty, I don't think it will last more than a quarter. I think they were working out the rust in the first 2 games in practice, as much as possible without game action.

Our run D will definitely be tested for sure, they like to run multiple TE formations like we do as well.

We still don't even really know how good or bad we are. Could totally go either way. Strictly basing off what I saw last week, they can win if they don't do too many dumb things.

Andrew can't throw a dumb int or two.

Yea the run D will for sure be tested. I see what your saying and can agree but I just see the 1st quarter being a short route type offense. Get him comfortable and get Matthews back involved. Aghlor will be running crossing routes as well but probably looking at 10+ yards. Regardless I hope we get in some favorable matchups and take advantage of their lack of key players.

I’m not sure about creativity, but from watching interviews following the “Philly Special”, I think Pederson is the guy that makes the risky play calls. Reich is definitely about smart play calls, just not sure how risky/tricky they’ll be.

I am one of the few who do not see Wentz coming back as a good thing for the Colts. We are going to need a baller game from Andrew Luck. Those huge chunk plays will need to show up this week. :goodluck:

I'm hoping we can score more than 23 points a game.  It's a lot to ask of a young defense to carry most of the load.  I had this game as a loss but now I feel we have a good chance if we can pick up the scoring and give our defense a breather.  Time to get this offense going.

I think it'll either be close or not quite a blowout, but something like 28-17 in Philly's favor. Either way I don't really see either team scoring more than the high 20's.

After reading the disrespect from the national media, and being annoyed, I'm predicting the Colts win 30-24.  There you have it.  Book it.

I think we win this one and AL has a BIG game. I think our DL will play really well and get a lot of pressure on Wentz. 31-17.

If the Luck and Hilton deep ball connection happens, plus the same defensive performance, good night.

If Luck and the defense play lights out we can beat any team.

After the Bucs game, I expect Luck to take a few more shots down the field to challenge the corners and safeties, and I expect Reich and Eberflus to ramp up the creative playcalling.

We should be prepared for the Eagles. The question is will be Eagles be prepared for us?

Linda Linda Linda, we have yet to see our offense click to it's potential. Whether we like it or not Luck has been knocking the rust off. The kids gone a year and people seem to forget how good that dude was. He has put the team on his back since being drafted. He's a fricken beast and I'm just waiting for him to break out again.

The Washington game was very encouraging, but I don’t see the Colts scoring enough points on that stout Defense to pull out the dub. Luck is gonna need to be at his absolute best to pull this one out.

27-17 Eagles

I think we'll come out early swinging, keep it close going into the 2nd half, then I think the Eagles will pull away late. Hoping for the D to show it wasn't a fluke against Washington and for Luck to show some improvement in taking care of the ball.

31-21 Eagles

I think we can get the W.  I've seen Luck do it against better defenses.

I hope we win so bad. So tired of hearing how much respect Wentz gets and how little Andrew Luck gets. Wentz is on a team where Nick Foles stepped in and won the super bowl, and he has only played a season and a half. Every where I go, from Madden to Twitter, to forums, I see Wentz held in higher regard than Luck.

Go Colts!

I want to see a team that stays competitive.  Not as worried about a "W" but want to see a team that THINKS they can win.

I guess that is how a feel about the whole year.  I want to see a team that is growning, developing, and gaining confidence that they can compete for a win every week.

Time for Luck to hit that deep ball, get that running game going for play action passes, and time for Hooker to get his first INT of the year!  31-28 COLTS!!

Exactly! Luck carried the whole team without an O-line and a D while Wentz has/had supporting cast.  I doubt if you put Wentz in Luck's situation, he wouldn't be able to do the same thing Luck did.

Yes, I'm also hoping we win by a margin.

Colts need to find something clicking on offense and stick to it. Ebron looked like a beast then all but disappeared. TY gets his catches but the other WR,s need to step up and have big games. Will be a great test in a hostile environment, lets see how we stack up!

On a sidenote, that is the ugliest NFL fan forum that I've ever laid eyes on. The fonts alone make me never want to go back. We have it pretty good here folks.

What I am expecting.....

If we win, talk will being about winning the division. If we lose, talk will go towards a high pick in the upcoming draft.

Wish it wasn't that way, but it is.

Wentz in Luck's situation would equal the 2018 Seahawks situation with Russell Wilson.

Colts win by 2+ TD's. Carson Wentz will be rusty. Eagles also have phony confidence from their SB win 9 months ago. Nobody fears the Eagles. At all

    • Yep. Up until that neck injury I don’t think manning missed a snap his entire career here.
    • Andrew has had 3 maybe 4 injuries since the beginning of his career, manning only missed one season here. So no worries the bad luck was all Bob's.
    • that guy is too short, has no wheels, and has to take a time out after every 6 attempts. will never make it.. nice jugs though
    • The facts.. a hung jury (twice) mistrial with most voters having sided for the alleged accuser/victim... both times.     She (prosecution) didn't drop the charges, the school (judge/jury) did.  She wanted round 3.  She wanted a full yes or no vote (4-1 or 5-0) either way, not we're split 3-2 so we'll just call it against the majority vote and designate as "Not Responsible" because it isn't 4 or more votes either way. - 'Case closed'.     There were questions (and other items) from the accuser that were never allowed in or asked in follow up questioning.  I think one of the changes to the Stanford Title IX hearing rules is to also allow an attorney to be not only in attendance but to also perform all duties of representation.  And an outside group determines what is admissible as questions/evidence, follow questions, etc...     At some level, it did, and many things at Stanford were changed after. At the  minimum, it was a mistrial x2, with no conclusive verdict either way. Then school (not prosecution) drops the case.   So she really needed to report this to both the school, and also the Police.  But with what evidence does she have to convince the LEO?  Guess the gals need some hidden body cam w/audio these days, like many folks do with dash cams (like me and my wife's cars...) and be their own TMZ...   Video, apparently the only way things get rectified anymore...     No worries, at least we know each others positions.  All is good.     Except to have (at some level) differing story from a another high achieving Stanford student about another high achieving Stanford student-   https://www.collegesimply.com/colleges/california/stanford-university/admission/     We don't even know for certain they ever got the FULL story, but articles I've read suggest that the Stanford Panel repressed/disallowed many/most of her interrogating questions and supplemental follow up inquiries to be asked of the accused.  Unless someone directly asks her directly, how could you answer as to whether her whole story was even heard or not?   If you are not truly interested to fully know those answers, then you don't ask.  At least, that's my perspective.
