From the game breakdown that I have reviewed I thought that Nelson was outstanding for his first game.  For those who say you do not draft a guard at #6 you certainly do when you can get someone that good. You win football games up front. If you have a good O-Line and good D-Line so Ballard needs to continue to build the lines.

I didn't think he was as good as people are saying.  Apparently PFF didn't either.

For a rookie I thought he did fine. You have to remember this. Everyone is big and strong in the NFL. He’ll only improve as the years go on.

This^ Was a good litmus to see where his skills are for sure. Even with the outcome being a loss, the game had some bright spots. Seeing we were rated 8th-ish youngest team in the league. Plenty to be desired at times, but there was real hope throughout that we may pull this out. Found myself having fun watching this game. And for what it’s worth, Treebeard and his giant smile was a treat to watch. Not even getting hit could knock it off his mug!
