Playoff chances slim...

Recommended Posts

i heard the chances of making the playoffs after going 0-1 is 30%. Should we just throw in the flag and go for the #1 pick?

I don't think the Colts should throw in the towel,  but you should definitely consider it.

I was scared for a while that the Colts were going to win this one.  That really would have hurt their draft position.  Fortunately, though, Doyle took one for the team.

Well it looks like 15 other teams have a 30% chance too. I don’t get why some people here act like we’re the only team that lost today, lol.

CBall would just do something stupid like take a guard or tackle with our first pick. Also, I thought we started tanking in preseason. Good grief:facepalm:

What? I can’t with you people

The chances of making the playoffs are only 38 percent to begin with. So not doomed, but concerned. For all we know the Bengals could be good this year. Lots of season left.

It gets even worse.  Assuming all of the statistics in this thread are correct, if you do the math that means the chances of making the playoffs after starting the season 1-0 are only 45%.  Everybody is doomed!!!!!!!!

I think our 0-1 looks better than the Texans, Bills, and Titans 0-1.   I like our chances.

Plus our QB survived the game, Tennessee's did not.

I dont think anybody should have expected the Colts to be playoff bound this year, but as far as today the division still looks like trash.

    • Has the world really become this soft? That spanking or punishing a child is a criminal offense?? 50 years ago, if a child misbehaved, other parents would be clamoring for the child’s parent to punish them. Now it’s seen as something that should never be done, the parent should be the child’s best friend and never teach them lessons. I’ll admit, it’s maddening how inconsistent Goodell is with suspensions, but at the same time it shouldn’t be a punishable offense
    • So I agree with this, for a clean sheet difference maker at a premium position, with years of high impact play remaining. I wanted Flowers and Lawrence (both have injuries, but nothing like microfracture).      This is where we disagree. I don't think Clowney fits that profile I described above, primarily due to the microfracture. That makes me question whether he is actually heading into his prime, or whether the odds say he's going to start having serious problems with that knee.   I also wonder whether actually has double digit sack potential, just based on his ability and skill. I mean, it's not unreasonable to project him getting 10-12 sacks, but he hasn't broken that barrier yet. He can obviously beat blockers, and he has tools, but I kind of see him in that Trey Flowers area -- lots of pressures and disruption, but lacking the closing ability to get a lot of sacks. I definitely don't see him ever hitting the 15+ sack range.   He's undoubtedly a really good player (obviously better than Flowers, btw), but is he ever going to be a monster, a dominant difference maker for a good defense? I'm skeptical.   Add in the knee condition, and my level of interest in guaranteeing him even $60m over three years goes way down; it basically disappears. I'd rent him for a year, but I'd only want to pay rental price, which means it's not gonna happen.
    • Personally, I don’t think he did much of anything that warrants suspension. All he might have done was punish his kid, and if that’s illegal, the world is getting too soft. However, it’s just things that have happened in the past that make me second guess everything, so personally I would have handed out a suspension just so I wouldn’t get complaints and everything from people about how this case is “no better than Zeke’s”. It’s more about keeping the public happy, though I think the entirety of this thing is a joke and parents spanking their child isn’t something that should mean suspension.
    • Actually it says "it is believed" that we did. He also believes we haven't spent squat and have MOST of our Cap $$$ still available. NOT!
    • Due diligence.  Kick the tires on anything you can and maybe you catch lightning in a bottle.
