Colts Vs. Bengals Game Day Thread

First NFL Game Day  of the regular season has finally arrived, Colts fans!  :default_20smile:   Our Indianapolis Colts begin both their 66th regular season, and also 35th year in the City Of Indianapolis, in the NFL.

Many changes in personnel occurred in the past off-season, in the watch and guidance of Colts Team Owner Jim Irsay.  Second-year General Manager Chris Ballard hired former NFL QB and coaching journeyman Frank Reich as the Colts Head Coach, and a healthy Andrew Luck brings both encouragement and hope in the Colts 2018 NFL Regular Season.

Colts both seek to rebound from their disappointing 4-12 regular season record in 2017, and reach the playoffs since the Colts were the AFC South Division Champions with 11-5 regular season records in 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Andrew Luck was on the injured reserve list the entire 2017 NFL season because of his recurring shoulder injury.  Scott Tolzien started the first game for Indianapolis at the L.A. Rams, before the Colts traded for Jacoby Brissett from the Patriots.

Andrew will start at QB for the Colts against the Bengals this Sunday afternoon. Today would be first Luck since the November 8, 2015, home game against the Denver Broncos, where he outplayed Peyton Manning for a  27-24 Colts victory.  He was hospitalized with a lacerated kidney and an abdominal injury four days later.

Lucas Oil Stadium's roof should be closed to keep everyone inside dry for this afternoon's 2018 season and home opener, because the game forecast outside the stadium area in downtown Indianapolis is cloudy skies with showers at 61 degrees, feels like 59 degrees,  45% precipitation, 89% humidity, and northeast winds at 12 miles per hour.

Head Linesman Pete Morelli leads his officiating crew assigned from the NFL Offices in New York City, to supervise the field and game action between the Colts and Bengals.

NO injuries, win your first regular season game, and the sweep over the visiting Bengals, and GO COLTS!!!!!     :cheer: :coltslogo:   :1colts:   :colts:  :coltshelmet:    :cheer:   :coltslogo:   :D

I think this game will be like the Packers game in 2012 where it was an emotional game for the team due to Pagano's cancer so they fell behind early but then came back and won the game. Now in 2018 I think things will be emotional for the players for seeing Andrew Luck back. Gimme the Colts 30-27 in a great comeback fashion, just like the game against the Packers in 2012.

So pumped for this game GO COLTS!

I hate to be the Debbie Downer here, but I'm not all that big on predicting a Colts win today.  We've got trouble with both Tackle positions, vs the Bengals DL.  We've got a great, big question mark at the bookend WR opposite TY.  Apparently, both of our projected starting CB's will be the backups, and the backups will be the starting -- and it's not due to injury.  And we could possibly be starting a grand total of FOUR rookies.

Personally, I just hope Luck comes out of this game without an injury.

Bengals 24-17

Thanks for opening the thread and new season for us LOS!

Seems kinda surreal that the regular season is finally here.  WOOO HOOO!  Pumped to see what the Kiddie Corps can do this year.  Going to be a lot of ups and downs as the kids find their way and the new coaching staff tries to figure it out as well.

One things for sure, though...we stick with the Shoe regardless of outcome.  Hope we stay relatively healthy throughout the year and really get after it.

GO COLTS!  All day, every day.  :coltshelmet:
