New TE

Huh. Another Stanford TE. They grow 'em in bunches.

The Bengals board nearly unanimously said he was good but underutilized, especially after Hue Jackson left. The Bengals are saving about $1.6 million with this cut. H-back/FB/TE. Great blocker. The team needed a 4th TE so I guess this makes sense. Was hoping Delaire would be re-signed once Lewis went on IR. Not to be, at least not yet.

Likely to return, but can't be activated until after week 8....

When you say activated it brings to mind a human/machine hybrid built for the sole purpose of being a defensive destroyer.

Basically I won’t be happy till QBs have actual literal laser cannons for arms.

Fullback - H-back - Tight End when with Bengals.

Seems like a quality player.

Reading the comments from above link, the Bengals fans give Hewitt very high praises.

Former college teammate to luck at Stanford too.

Tom Rathman and Frank Reich are both immortalized on Super Tecmo Bowl. Is there a greater honor?

Didn't use Reich much.   I did play full seasons using Rathman as the main RB.   He would faulter as the season went on, but you could still get 2500 yards out of him.

I once stayed up all night with a buddy and played a whole season (he the Bills, I the 9ers). We got to the Super Bowl and I whooped his Bills at like 5 am.. Youth. I was big on Jerry Rice over the top or slanting and IIRC there's a draw play for Thurman Thomas that's tough to stop if you don't call it specifically (on D). I should see if I can find that game somewhere. Good times.

My favorite game of all time.

That sounds like a fun night.  That passing play with the 4 button hook routes was solid.

Isn't Reggie Wayne a type of coach too, or is he just a volunteer?
