I Have A Bad Feeling About This...

I have always been told to go with my gut on important decisions in life. I haven't always done that, and when I don't, I usually find myself saying "should've gone with my gut". Obviously I have no say in Irsays decision, but my gut tells me that this isn't right thing to do. No matter what happens I'm blue and true, but like the title says, I have a bad feeling about this...

It's going to get worse before it gets better. There is no way Luck leads us to a 12 win season like Peyton almost guaranteed every season. With that said, Luck does have the potential to do very well and be very successful. However, don't expect him to put him Peyton Manning numbers right off the bat

Considering Peyton Manning didn't put in Peyton Manning numbers right off the bat I think most of us would be very surprised!

Peyton had (not including himself) 4 players selected in first round, and 3 players selected in the second on the offense. Names like Faulk, Harrison, Glenn, Dilger, Mandarich, etc...

Still, only 3 wins and 13 losses. But Peyton's football smarts and extreme work ethic reversed that next season 13 wins and 3 losses.

Luck has tools, if he puts in the work like Peyton, and has football smarts, he too will do just fine.

My gut feeling honestly says I feel bad about Manning having to leave under these circumstances and that really despite me wanting him to catch Brady for SBs I believe Manning would underthrow his WRs and throw everything and anything underneath and to the sidelines and teams will jump on it even more than in past years when his arm/shoulder was already weak. Peyton will never catch Brady for SBs. Peyton is a train wreck waiting to happen. We should be thankful it won't happen in Indy.

... and quite frankly some of you Manning fans would have been all over Irsay had he gotten Manning killed out there so remember that

....I dont see us making the playoffs in 2012...but we havent drafted yet and we havent signed any free agents..

I just hope Luck doenst get hurt...because he may be running for his life

We're back to Danny O as the backup

Honestly, we probably weren't going to make the playoffs anyways. Manning is getting up there in age and the talent on the roster is dwindling. The window closed a while ago. We are just starting the full blown rebuild a year early.

Without Manning there is no Saturday, there will be no Wayne, Garcon is a free agent, Addai is no longer reliable, Clark and Collie will injure themselves....Luck has no offensive left to allow him to succeed like the player everyone expects him to be. Why is that a better choice than peyton manning? Allow a new QB to sit behind manning for one year, and learn to be the manning caliber qb he could be. Hello...steve young behind joe montana? That worked out well. I am team RG3! Realistically, he will be way more versatile for our current offensive situation.

    • Was that the only good receiver taken in that draft? And did they give up multiple picks?
    • Yeah, I have no beef with MHJ as a prospect (I think some are pumping him up a little too much, and there's some name recognition probably influencing the way he's talked about). It would be awesome to have him on the Colts. But just like every other draft prospect in history, the possibility exists that he will not live up to the pre-draft expectations.    But during the pre-draft process, fans and media start falling in love with players. Terms like "generational talent," "future superstar," etc., start getting thrown around. And now we're talking about a prospect as if he's a lock for the HOF before he's even played a game in the NFL. That's fine, it's fun, we all do it. But that's different from actually scouting, setting a board, and making decisions for the team.   Each of us can point to a previous prospect that we loved and raved about and had them fitted for a gold jacket, but who bounced out of the league within 3-4 years. And the same is probably true for NFL scouts and decision makers. Which is why Ballard's comment today -- there is no such thing as a perfect prospect -- is so important to remember. I'm not against the team identifying a guy they really want and going up to get him, but I hope they're not just doing it with stars in their eyes.
    • Would Cincy have made the SB without taking Chase at #5. I got the answer, and it is easy, it is a FAT NO. They would have never got by KC as great as Burrow is. Giving up next years 1st round pick isn't the end of the world to land a generational WR. We still have picks in rounds 2-7 if we did that.
    • Definitely was, but essentially all of them received the same punishment initially.     Just thought it was curious, especially right before the draft. Has to put the CB spot for the Eagles in limbo.     Been wondering if Jontay Porter's NBA lifetime ban had any play in the decision.   Rodgers did bet on his own team.
    • sure hope he does we need a game changing pass catcher
