Total politics going on here. I have posted several posts of my opinion of Irsay and ALL were removed! And Irsay has the nerve to call Peyton a "politician". I am sure this will be removed too.

You've posted several post of your opinion but yet your status says you have only 4 post? I'm super confused..

Posts are removed only when they break forum rules. You cannot toss insults around regardless of who you aim them at - Irsay, Manning, Belicheck, Brady, fellow posters, the moon...no difference. End of story.

yes this is 100% on Irsay.

it's Irsay's fault manning had 4+ neck surgeries and was going into what was basically a contract year with $28m hanging in the balance? It's so easy for fans to sit back and say a player should have been kept. Those same fans don't have to deal with the consequences if the decision they made was wrong 8 months later. If it goes bad those same fans probably jump over to the other side and say....... we never shoulda kept Manning. Irsay isn't cutting a QB who is coming off a 40 TD 14-2 season. He's parting ways with a QB that does not have a very certain future healthwise.

I feel it was unavoidable circumstances that impeded the relationship from continuing. I truly feel Peyton DID want to play out his career here. I truly felt Irsay wanted that too. But one tumultuous season upset the cart beyond and easy fix. Irsay has decided to rebuild now rather than set the cart back up, lose of few pieces and try to plug in a couple of others for a couple seasons.

I felt this was coming, hoped there was a chance to have Peyton for a year or two and then transition. But having learned what I did from all of the discussion, knew it wasn't meant to be, and likely was going to play out the way it has. I'm sure Peyton and Irsay had to both overcome emotional state before making their peace with the business decision at hand for both of them.

Fans are entitled to their feelings. In time they will recede and then the rubber meets the road... what now? Fans can be emotional, even irrational. So be it. If they wish to move on, fine. Others, like me, can temper our sadness with the thought of hope for the future and continue to cheer on those that put on the Shoe.

I once heard something that seems to ring true though...

There are good reasons fans have to pay to attend games, and others are paid to attend games.

So, I'll let them 'do what they do', to steal a phrase, and just be as good a fan as I can, in my own way. I won't begrudge others doing it too.

I'm not really suprised that ppl are heart broke over this. I'm not surprised its happening. if you guys are only peyton fans though, and have known you will follow him any where. I think its time to stop crying about it. I mean you are peyton fans not colts fans. Peyton is right there in Indy. He's doing fine. I love him. Hate to see him go FROM MY COLTS TEAM. I mean if peyton could leave him self id be crying like that too. but he cant. Wheres the logic here? follow peyton where he goes. I'll be a Peyton fan too but the Colts will always be first in my heart. Peyton second. This should not be a tragic loss to Peyton fans like it is. I guess maybe you don't want to admit that you are Colts fans like me...

Heres my thoughts on the whole thing. If the colts really were going to get rid of manning they would trade him to a team in need of a qb and get a few extra picks or a player out of the deal. They Arent just going to release one of the best qbs in the game today for nothing. So with this said, I think they are releasing him from the roster until the start of the new league year so they can resign him at a more franchise friendly cost. I think its all about avoiding the 28 million bonus or whatever it is. Maybe Peyton agreed he didnt deserve the money because he wasnt able to participate this year and knows we cant delay the deadline any further

I don't think they can trade or tag

That said, I'm still dreaming that this is part of the plan to restructure his contract

Until I get slapped in the face to the contrary I do not want to believe the dream is over

Unless we hear it from Peyton's mouth that it's a mutual decision Irsay will continue to be blamed, and god help him if Peyton wins another Superbowl or MVP(more likely) because I know I'll be one of the many Colt's fan who won't let it go. I truly feel bad for Luck because more than half the fan base is going to hate him this first year and if we're not back in the playoffs by his 3rd year the lynch mobs will be ready to hang him.

As miserable as I feel right now about him leaving, this team isn't going to win any SB's in the next 2-3 years. If he has to go, I hope he wins some SB's and goes out on top. After carrying this team for years and never really having a consistent defense or ST's and all that could have been accomplished with that, then I hope when he does retire that he goes out on top.

I guess we will se who the fair weather fans are. I will not hate Irsay if PM goes. i have ben prepared for this for awhile. Colts football will not be the same withou PM under center but no matter wahat it was going to happen someday. I wish it could be under better circumstances but things are what they are. I was around when the then Balt. Colts let Johnny Unitas go. I stayed a Colt fan but to this day Unitas was done wrong by Joe Thomas. This situation with PM reminds me of that tim but i think we should get all the fact.first before judging. I will not hate who ever we draft wether it is Luck or RBGIII

How do you know that? It could be VERY possible Manning may not have wanted to be paid the 28mill and seek else where or sign an entirely new contract. You can't play the blame game until the details come out.

I like this line of thought.. waiting to see what the press conference brings out before I get upset about this

And so did the other 52 men on the roster, plus the coaching staff, trainers, and front office personnel.

The difference is those other 52 didn't do their part half the time...Like when they D failed in 2010 playoffs and let MARK SANCHEZ drive on them....Peyton's last game is much like this news..Colts lose, at no fault to Manning.

And the PR battle begins.

The PR battle started when Irsay had rob lowe tweet that peyton was retiring. Peyton, even down to the drive by interview in Irsay's car, is a class act.

I'm excited. I'm going to order my Luck jersey tomorrow. This is good news that means we are going to compete for another 14 years and not just 1 to 2 more years. Our division is all young QB's, its a perfect time to start over. We have a head start on the Patriots. They will fade and we will be dominant for another 14 years.

The rivalry with the Patriots is over. Back before most of you were fans ( I would guess sometime between Peyton winning 12 games and Stanford's loss in teh Fiesta bowl), some of us were rooting for the Colts vs. the Patriots because they were in the same division as us. The rivalry was rekindled because it was Manning vs. Brady. You all can worry about the patriots all you want but the Colts won't even be speck on their radar anymore.

I am a fan of the entire team, but I am absolutely heart broken. IF this is truly happening. I pray peyton goes to the 49ers. And, I hope he wins the superbowl. He deserves a team like that, and a coach like Harbaugh to allow him to do what he does. The 9ers would allow him to shine like he deserves. This is so unfair to Peyton Manning. Look at what he has done for Indy. He made the colts THE colts, he brings money into the organization and the city of Indianapolis, he even has an Indianapolis childrens hospital in his name, for petes sake. He is treated so unfair. I knew his era would come to an end soon, but he is truely an incredible player and human being....He DESERVES to retire a Colt. Without Manning there is no Saturday, there will be no Wayne, Garcon is a free agent, Clark and Collie will injure themselves....Luck has no offensive left to allow him to succeed like the player everyone expects him to be. Why is that a better choice than peyton manning? Allow a new QB to sit behind manning for one year, and learn to be the manning caliber qb he could be. Or draft RG3 since he will be more versatile for our current offensive situation. Hello...steve young behind joe montana? That worked out well.

I hope the man goes to the Titans or Texans and just torches the heck out of the Colts year after year

This is pathetic, no Colts fan would want this ... I guess the silver lining of this fiasco is a lot of people will find a new band wagon!!

The PR battle started when Irsay had rob lowe tweet that peyton was retiring. Peyton,

I am for all fans to 'get things off their chest' regarding this, go for it! Vent!! But I still won't stand for baseless assertions blasted out as if they are undisputed fact.

Back this claim up with factual evidence, or retract it. To do neither or continuing to assert it is true via opinion only will result in my summarily dismissing all of your future claims or assertions out of hand.

We were talking about the 06 SB Championship and I do believe the defense did come alive and do their part and was a major reason that we hoisted the trophy that year. You can make it about any other season or slant it any way you want but I was talking about that particular season, so I'm sorry that didn't fit what you want to talk about.

All that being said I will truly miss you Peyton, you're one of a kind and definitely a Legend. Nobody classier in the NFL that's for sure. Much love #18

Rob lowe is friends with Irsay. Thats all I need to make the assertion.

Please do dismiss my future claims, I welcome it.

You haven't sufficiently backed your claim.

Friends indeed-

I will only say this and then Im done with the Peyton talk...........If not for PETON MANNING there is no Lucas Oil Stadium and Indy has no pro football team. There are some fans like myself that know its all just part of football and these things happen but this should not be one of them, Peyton Manning is bigger than the "horseshoe" because without him there is no shoe in INDY...........GOOD LUCK Peyton and thank you for all the good times, I will always be a Colts fans but because of what you have done and still will do for Indy I will always pull for you FIRST because true "INDY" fans owe you that and we know THE HORSESHOE WAS NAILED HERE BECAUSE OF YOU!
