Who was it?

Is that a front office position that typically leads to GM offers later on?

There were two...

The first was Tom Telesco....   he became the GM with the S.D. Chargers.

The second was Jimmy Raye Jr.    I'm looking him up to see where he landed after Ballard didn't keep him.   He's not a GM currently, he's got a front office job somewhere.

NOTE:   Raye is the assistant GM with the Texans.

Tom Telesco is listed Wikipedia as having been "VP of Football Operations and Director of Player Personnel."  Nothing about "Assistant GM"

Jimmy Raye III is listed as having been "Vice President of Football Operations"  Not Assistant GM.

Although it does say he is Assistant GM with the Texans as well as VP of Player Personnel.

Didn't know much about Dodds but seems like a highly thought of person in the industry.

The more quality people we have at important positions the better.

Yeah Dodds seems to have a great reputation.

If the Colts can turn this around Dodds will likely land a GM job elsewhere. Other quality people will likely get opportunities elsewhere too. Being able to maintain (not just assemble) a quality personnel staff is one of the most important aspects of Chris Ballard’s job.
