Somewhat surprising, IMO.

I think Thad wants a long term deal and to settle down. Probably with Pacers if we will sign him. I know his wife has said comments about liking the schools and wanting to stay in one place for awhile. I think he might even take less money for more years...maybe say 3-35/36 or something. Pacers might be able to use it to their advantage. Maybe lock him up for a few years at a good rate or it will open up a big portion of our cap if we go after a big name free agent...maybe someone younger like Otto Porter in a trade or a restricted free agent like Randle or Aaron Gordon. Interesting summer coming up!

Thank you. Because when Free Agency starts and Trades start to happen, everyone will want to talk about other teams as well.

The draft is barely a week away as well and that will generate a lot of discussion too. Should be interesting

I have a funky feeling that Magic is about to sign LeBron and PG + re-sign Randle on top of it. The Lakers have room for 2 max deals.

Sounds like Kawhi could be traded there. They would be a very good team but I'm still not 100% sure they could beat the Warriors in a 7 game series.

So...any guesses on who the Pacers take next week?

I am hoping for an athletic Wing/SF that can play Great Defense. Bring him off the bench to relieve our 3 point specialist Bogey. Lance is better at the 2 coming off the bench to spell Dipo. We have the Big's with Turner and Sabonis even if Thad leaves. I like Collison but he is 30.

now im hoping lebron and paul do go to la.  id enjoy watching the warriors beat them both out there, and it gets them out of the east

how would lebron, paul and kawhi fit on the same team if they are all small forwards? hard to see james being a full time point guard

LeBron basically is a PG and has been for a while.

Maybe not ideal fits but those 3 would be nightmare to guard. No one has good enough wings for that. Spacing wouldn't be an issue either as they all can shoot.

I don't think it's likely that they all end up on the same team though.

James will play PF, Randle Center, Kawhi SF, and PG SG and just Lonzo get 15 Assists a game LOL.

If LeBron is serious about getting a ring he should join the Rockets. The only team that can compete with the Warriors in terms of firepower.

It would be terrible for the NBA though if he did. But for him that would be the smart move.

I think the 76ers could be an option for him too. Embiid, Simmons, Fultz with LeBron could do some damage.

I totally agree. If I was him I would join the Rockets as long as I was assured that CP3 would be signed as well. Texas has no state income tax either.

He would have to take major discount. Or Morey managing to ship off Anderson contract.

They would have to renounce rights to Randle to fit max deals for PG and Lebron unless they can get someone to take Deng off their hands. Not even waiving Deng leaves them enough room to keep the cap hold on Randle. I think it’s more likely they land Leonard in a say a 3 way trade where they give up Ball and either Kuzma or Ingram and Spurs get maybe Kuzma and a high draft pick or something. Don’t think they want Ball. Then they could sign Lebron and another max player out right...either PG, Cousins, or CP3. Think about that!

As for the Pacers I could see them helping facilitate moving a bad contract like Deng or I’ve heard Memphis is trying to move Parsons horrible contract and willing to give up #4 pick. If we traded Collison and Jefferson and say 23 pick for Parsons and #4 it works money wise. Memphis wants to make a run next year and wants to re-sign their core and waiving Jefferson and Collison would be perfect backup to Conley next year. We get #4 pick and an expiring contract next year so it becomes more movable. It’s a horrible contract but we haven’t had a top 5 pick since Rim Smits....that’s a long time!

That would be awesome getting the #4 and only giving up Collison and Jefferson + the 23rd. Parsons used to be Good, what in the hell happened to him?

Yep if they give up rights to Randle and waive Deng they would have about 85 million in cap space. Leonard is like 22 million PG 30 and Lebron 34 I think...not to mention they would have to give up say Ball who is 7 million or Ingram who is like 6...so they have space for that...would be able to bring in some vets and also have mid level exception to use too. They would be thin but dangerous. If they can keep Kuzma and bring him off the bench and they could start Hart at point they would just need some bigs to bang. Or maybe they bring back Randle trade for Leonard and sign Lebron...that would still leave lots of cap for fillers but not for PG.

Horrible injuries. He could still play like 15 minutes off the bench at 3...back up Bogs. But kills our cap because he cost like 25 million. Pick would be awesome but we would be rebuilding and not going for broke next year. Probably let Thad go so we could sign another PG. we would be super young...but don’t we have to be realistic we aren’t beating GS next year? Got to look for our window.

Yeah as far as winning it all our window is wide open but I don't see anyone beating the Warriors next season unless LeBron lands on a team that is superish?

We’ll i don’t see us building  team that could beat GS in the next couple years. That is why I like moving way up in the draft and getting a future young piece. Re-sign Myles next year and then you have a young core of Dipo, Myles, Sabonis and whomever the 4 pick is. Porter JR or Jackson Jr. After Parsons comes off the books we could potentially have max money for a player and maybe by that point be an attractive landing spot. Or maybe we save cap space and try to find free agents next offseason...id rather get a young draft pick...not only is it hard to lure free agents here but I don’t see a big name coming here until they see us with the right pieces to win it all...maybe adding a top young stud plus Victor and an improved year from Myles might finally be it.

But Leonard isn't a FA will take a trade to get him and they wont take crap from the Lakers for an arguably top 5 player

Lakers very well could trade them Lonzo and Ingram and a future Draft pick. The way the media is treating this is, Kawhi hates it in San Antonio and wants out. Doesnt want to play there at all. So the Spurs may do the trade above? I think Ingram has the potential to be an All-Star, Lonzo is a Great passer and under Pop may flourish.

Yeah something like that is what it will take to land an elite talent like Leonard we honestly should go after him if he wants out that bad worst the spurs can do is say no
