No..must fall in company line like big brother..no disagreements...yeah right.

Ballard and the scouts have watched hundreds of hours of film.   They have actually talked to these kids.   Fans watch YouTube.   I'm going to take the opinion of those in the know

Yeah. They aren’t sexy picks but Ballard is building the o-line for luck. This could be the first year we have a good line. Leonard pick was a reach but he’s a good player with a high ceiling. Trust Ballard.

Ryan tried to build a line too, getting more d will help.

leanord was projected to go in the second

No he wasn't...at least not as a quasi-1st rounder. He's an FCS player and his Combine was meh.

Need pick...the theme this far.

I’m not super familiar with either guy, but no matter how ya slice it, we just drafted 3 starters in a row, & have another pick in this round.

Draft anyone and they're a starter on this team.

I just love how all off season we've heard how we need to protect Andrew Luck. That if we only had an OL then Luck wouldn't have missed last year. Then Ballard goes and tries to fix the OL and the GM wannabes cry because it isn't the sexy pic. Come on people! If we protect Andrew this team will be a playoff contender.

What mocks have you looked at? For weeks mocks have had the Colts taking Leonard in the 2nd round.

This is beyond dumb, even for an exaggeration.

We are also creating great depth!  We need this to handle Jville and Tennessee.  I like it a lot!  Imagine Andrew with time to throw and the threat of a running game!  Go Ballard Go!

TBH don’t know much about Smith. I’d be happier about it if he can play T.

Luck better be vertical next season haha. I’m fine with the Leonard pick.

I love picking Darius Leonard. He is a perfect linebacker for the defense and he is one of the few linebackers projected as a possible second round pick.

Smith seems more of a guard than a tackle at least based on most of what i've read. I'll be interested to see where Ballard/Reich view him playing. After taking Nelson in round 1 I would have preferred another defensive player but that's JMO. I hope Smith brings a similar nasty attitude that Nelson is projected to bring.

Smith is a 1st team All American and All SEC. So he must be a scrub! We are bringing in 2 All Americans on the OL Protecting Andrew Luck is going to happen finally! Good pick!

Yes, I love these picks I love it that we're finally maybe going to have a dominant O-line. I know everybody wants us to fix all our problems in one draft that it isn't going to happen it wasn't supposed to happen. That's why they have a three-year plan. But they had to protect Luck in the meantime.

I love how everyone wants to play armchair GM. There’s a reason they have guys who get paid to scout and know much more then anyone on this forum ... relax CB knows more then u!

Yeah with overpaid free agents that busted and mid to late round draft picks. This isn't even comparable. Two All American guards, one being the best prospect possibly ever. This is game changing for this offense and Andrew Luck.

    • it all depends on what Frank decides to run on game day
    • It's also worth mentioning that Carolina has a top ten OL, while TB's OL is bottom 10.  I've never been a fan of Winston, but it's much easier being a QB for Car, and it's certainly nice to have a guy like McCaffrey to take the pressure off a backup.   Also, didn't Winston have like 5 INTs and 2 fumbles. Pretty hard to win with 7 turnovers. Very surprised Carolina didn't beat them by more. I think Winston's QBR was under 10.0 lol.
    • Now now this is a bit of a strawman. It's one game, in which both QBs were playing so they had a direct impact on each other's numbers. I mean it was hard in some ways for Allen to put up yards when his D kept gifting him great starting position.   To your wider comparison, Allen is a backup covering for a starter and they have a RB lighting it up. I'm not surprised they've kept it quite conservative. Even then, it's never been an O built on gaudy passing numbers.    Winston.. is when you've found out the answer to "is he the guy", but at least you won't die knowing. Has the arm, doesn't have the QB smarts IMO. I'd certainly rather have the latter than former if I had to choose one. But what's wrong with wanting both?    Again... and I will keep repeating this, why is it so wrong to want to see if Brissett is capable of slinging it when needed. Quite prepared to be patient, but also not going to ignore that he has some worrying shortcomings so far and it's not just his reluctance to push it deep. Progressions, locking onto receivers, a few misdiagnoses of defenses (overly critical of me I know). I'd almost be more forgiving if he was trying to make plays and making mistakes, but he's being very conservative and still making some fundamental errors. In a short span of games you'd live with it, but the hope is that he's going to be our guy for years right?
