No,.,.this guy dominates.....and we have him for 5 years...low cost

It's the #6 overall pick for a guard. That's an extremely high cost.

This fanbase has lost all perspective.

Quenton Nelson was definitely the BPA. I do think the offensive line depth is better than the linebacker depth, but there are plenty of good linebackers left.

I really wish Chubb was available at 6. I think pass rush is very weak this year.

You know the phone was ringing and we likely turned down a good offer to pick a guard ....

It sounds like the offers weren't as good of a haul as Ballard was hoping for. Plus Nelson isn't just any OG, he's a generation OG that should be an All-Pro for MANY years.

Hey Ryan Grigson, what's it feel like to be fired by the Browns?

And Buffalo gives up 2 seconds to move up to 7, and wanted to move up to 5.  So Nelson is worth #12 and 2 seconds?  Nobody in their right mind would say that.

Wow.  Last year CB picks an overrated safety, now this year an overrated G.  Ballard is worse than Grigson.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.  Worst post of the thread award right there.

People that don't like our pick have no clue, sorry.

Why is that?  I don't see anyone saying he's a bad player but if you can't see the massive opportunity cost we lost here then... It is what it is. There is plenty of comparable guards later in the draft but not many comparable linebackers to Smith and Edmunds.

Opportunity cost.  Fundamental aspect of business and we didn't make a business savy move.

Bingo, nail on the head. Although let’s see the trade details confirmed.

Who are the comparable Guards. I disagree. There are decent prospects at Guards but nobody like Nelson. I guess we just take the sexy pick and keep getting Luck knocked out??

Wow.  So Ballard essentially trades picks 12, 53 and 56 for a G.  Just wow.

He traded 12, 53 and 56...for the No,1 player in the draft

Roquan is a great pick for the Bears and their defense.

I really like it...They spent free agent buck on offense..and this guy starts immediately on defense

There are plenty of comparable guards in this draft... Wynn Hernandez Price Ragnow all have just as much ability as Nelson.  And 2 of those are even a better fit in our offense... We will be predominantly in zone and a zone guard doesn't have to be the best guard ever to be productive.

A bird in hand is worth two in the Bush. No guarantee a once in a decade player in a position of great need is available.

A solid (not great) o line helps the offense. Luck has shown he can win in shootouts. We’ll need that. A great d player can keep the opponent from dropping 20+ on you but you still need an o to put up the points. This keeps Luck healthy, opens up the run game, and wins games. It’s what we need, maybe not we wanted.
