We tried. Hard to fault the team for not wanting to pay him as the leagues highest paid center. That said even the ravens knew this is what it was going to be for him. They said he’d end up as the leagues highest paid center. And the going rate for that was $10.4M annually. So it’s back to the drawing board.

That is a little worrisome, all this Center talk.

Maybe Kelly told them he was thinking about retiring?(concussions?)

Or they are planning on moving him to guard.

Like was said above...who knows at this point?

Since Ballard didn’t draft him...Kelly must suck now.  Lol. Who knows what’s going on.  Maybe La Canfora doesn’t know what he is talking about.

I can confirm that he does not in fact have the slightest clue about anything. He tries to buy a vowel on Jeopardy.

Maybe Ballard is pocketing the money lol.

Or maybe he is just going around pushing the market up by bidding on guys and driving their prices up. I still think he is focused on compensatory picks for next year.

That's one of the more likely explanations I've heard on this forum. I buy that one. We haven't hardly got any compensatory picks for years besides the occasional one here and there (2012 there were multiple I believe), so it would be nice to start getting back to having a surplus of picks in the draft again.

Pouncy is a talented guy.....

But earlier in the lives of he and his brother the guy they liked to hang with was......

Aaron Hernandez.

I'd say no thanks and move on....

I used to hang out with someone I called a friend who ended up being a murderer. Matter of fact his son was convicted of murder as well.

60 or 70% of the guys I grew up with are either dead or in prison.

Because I associated with them should I be shunned?

The stories I read basically said they were all in a gang.   You ok with that?

Were you in a gang?   Is that why the people you grew up with are dead,  or were there other circumstances?

As soon as the Colts mentioned they were interested in Jensen to come here and play Guard I knew it wasn't happening. This may very well be Jensen's only chance at a major payday and he knows his price value as a starting center is much richer than his value at guard.  No one in their right mind is going to throw that much money at a guy to switch positions and play guard. I don't even know why Ballard is wasting his time on Pouncey, who clearly asked to be released and is looking to get paid and the only way to make the most out of his worth is to sign somewhere as their starting center.

That all depends on what your outlook of what a gang is.

Yes I was in a gang. Not the type of gangs like the Bloods or the Crips but a gang just the same. All the boys growing up in my neighborhood  were in gangs. We were involved in small thefts shoplifting and some small time vandalism. We never had guns but we did have knives, chains and baseball bats. We never terrorized people except other neighborhood gangs.

Murderers come from all walks of life including your neighborhood bankers or policemen.

The biggest reason most of the friends I grew up with either died or ended up in prison were drugs.

My only point I was trying to make is not everyone can be judged on what they did as kids or teenagers. I got out of that type of lifestyle when I was drafted into the Army. There I learned self control and discipline. I never looked back but I have been to a few funerals of old friends. More for their families than the loss of an old friend.

If he wants to get paid, he may want to try actually playing well. He graded out as one of the worst centers in the league last season (#27 with a rating of 46.5).

He was hurt the year before that and was a 3 time pro bowler the 3 years prior to that. He may be able to get back to playing well again, but I can't see him getting a huge contract right now.

Which country drafted you into the military? I know there a few that require all males to serve. If you don't mind me asking.

I was drafted on March 23, 1972 right here in the US. Less than a year later they stopped the draft.

Man, I know that Ballard doesn't want to overpay, and I like that, but even I am getting a bit disheartened by bringing people in and they go elsewhere.

Each individual case makes sense but when you see guys like Jensen who look like good Ballard type acquisitions and they go somewhere else, it leaves a spur taste.

Ps I had never heard of Jensen before yesterday and still sucks lol

Copy that I was thinking more recently. I grew up an Army brat spent time in Germany during the 80's. I'm pretty sure mandatory service of 2 yrs is still required for all males. I know it was back then.
