Biggest issue with this thread is that the Colts can't "lurk" someone......  are they lurking around something?  maybe.......  you can be a lurker, but you cant lurk someone.......  you have to lurk AROUND something.... .  lol

Well what if they are literally lurking AROUND ndamukong suh?

Agreed.  He has some PR baggage, is not young anymore, and never was a real pass rush/sack threat.  I'd be comfortable at 10 to 14 over 3 years.

He's 31.  He'll want a contract to carry him to at least 34.

Dude has averaged 6.5 sacks a yr as a DT,,  and 37 tackles....... how is that never being a pass rush threat from DT?  For comparison, Hankins avg.s like 2.2 sacks a year, and everyone thought he was god's gift to interior pass-rushers last year......  pair them up for a few seasons, not like we have super high priority re-signings coming up, how much can Basham or Wilson command 2 years from now?

I’ve got no problem with the culture Ballard is instilling here. Young hungry team. No longer holding onto old over the hill players with bloated contracts. Starting guys based on talent and not their salary. We have a clean slate here. New coaches, staff, cleaned out the dead weight, getting a fresh healthy Andrew back...what’s not to like? I’ve been a Colts fan since they arrived in Indy and love the direction we are headed....if you can’t be patient enough to give the rebuild a few years then save us all the crying and go watch some soccer.

ps I love soccer too just saying it’s going to take time for this...welcome to reality.

The thing is we're not rebuilding. We're just getting worse.

Rick Venturi said about Scott Tolzein "he doesn't have professional skill sets".

We are so void of not only talent, we're also void of players! Is anyone imagining what are starting 5 WR's will be? Or the LBers, or CB's.

To fill roster with 53 players we may have a bunch of Scott Tolzein's.

By the way, I wouldn't watch soccer if payed. Lol

I see the Patriots appear to be interested according to Rappaport. I guess Bellichick didnt hear what Polian and Casserly said. Or he doesnt care.

Whoever signs him the money will have to fit. If Ballard is even interested at all I just say I'm down as long as the deal makes sense. If it doesn't then lets move on.

Going to "highest bidder "

Fit and scheme don't matter...

And THIS is likely why we won't sign him.

Suh is a mercenary.   In it for the money, not for the team.   The exact opposite of what Ballard wants.

Pass....

while I feel ya, who else has more cap space, and has signed, well...... DeNico?

Belichick has a different philosophy than Polian? I’m stunned.

What a wise-guy trying to use every avenue to get better.. who does he think he is? He wishes he had someone like Larry Tripplett. Now there’s a real DT.

Well...  BB doesn't care and he has no reason to...   be has a track record of success...

That said...   you've completely misrepresented what they said...

They didn't say he was bad or he sucks or shouldn't be signed.   They simply said he's not what most fans think he is.

Buyer beware.

But you know BB...  he's going to likely offer a one or two year deal and see if Suh is interested in playing for a Super Bowl title.   If the answer is yes, then BB will sign him to a team friendly deal.  And if not, no harm in kicking the tires.

TL DR I am guessing?  The article talked about how NE negotiates "expecting" FA's to sign there for less, because. "that's what guys do"  your post has nothing to do with the article......  neither does Bill Polian.

Let’s be real, every colts fan didn’t agree with Polians decisions during his tenure through draft or FA.  When your hand fed PM & only win 1 SB, I question his roster building but since he got that 1 Championship in a small market people don’t care & forget.  He tried way too hard to find a gem instead of going with sure thing so don’t take BP comments as weight of Gold.

gimme a break. he wasn't "hand fed" Manning. There were LOTS of NFL experts who thought Ryan Leaf should have been the first pick. they said Peyton was too thin, too robotic, didn't have enough arm. they said Leaf was the second coming of Terry Bradshaw and a lock for the Hall of Fame.

So, it wasn't the slam dunk it looks like now. Then look at Polian's first round draft choices. They pretty much formed those teams that won 12 games a year for six-seven years. Edge (over Ricky Williams), Freeney, Dallas Clark, Reggie. Even ones in the later years all contributed. Addai, Castonzo, even Jerry Hughes ended up playing well in Buffalo. He also ran drafts that netted Bob Sanders, Cato June, Mike Peterson, Robert Mathis and signed up UFAs like Gary Brackett and Jeff Saturday.

You can disagree with a lot of what he says, but please. He was one of the best. He built those Peyton teams.

No idea what TL DR means.

So I’ll just say yes.

For those of you wishing and praying the Colts sign Suh are going to be very disappointed. Suh just said he doesn't care who he plays for and what scheme they run, he will play for whichever team throws him the richest contract. Do you really think Chris Ballard is going to sign a guy who only cares about himself? You can have all the talent in the world but with an attitude like that have fun in Oakland. Peace!

There were talks of him being traded for Bryant earlier in the offseason. He and Cutler had some magic early in the season but he had a high ankle sparain that derailed it. He never really clicked with Tannenhill. That said they just sign Amendola and Wilson and they have Stills who they like a lot. Nothing official just only so many balls to go around. Just a hunch.

I'd love to have him! with a better QB he would light it up he has tons of talent.

What do you want to do with the money? Save it? For what? Who's the great player we have in house with a contract coming up soon?

Maybe I dont know how cap funny money works. Is it a use it or lose it thing? In house you 're right there are no huge contracts. Melvin will get paid, hopefully by us, but the rest of "our" guys wont break us. That no friggin way means you pay Suh 12-20 mil a year that he's not worth. C Ball knows he was good 5 years ago. If he was still, he'd be snatched up already. Maybe we give the dang cheerleaders a raise with all that money. Courtney could use an upgrade on here grill but the rest of her is on point!

He's a very good DT.  My point was that he is never expected to be a quick 3 tech sack specialist.  His strong suit is that he is a very good all around DT both at stopping the run and  pushing the pocket.  He also plays very hard and is extremely durable, in an almost unheard of way for a big fatty.

But his big contract was with Miami.  He'll get less per year this time, IMO.

You must have been an awful child at Christmas time...can't imagine your mom telling you to wait til Christmas Morning to open your gifts. lol Rome wasn't built in a day. This is a multi-year process....not sure why peoples expectations are so over the top. No offense to you I get it especially if your paying for tickets and so on you want a good product on the field. Some times you have to take a step back to move forward (like when you go down the wrong path and realize your at a dead end)...we had to do that last year. We will be better than last year just having Andrew alone...but even if we just win a game or two more we are making progress. We have like 6 months before the season starts....we will fill the roster I PROMISE. If we don't have 53 men on it for opening game....I'll leave the forum forever. lol I just say if you don't like this process...take an antacid...put your phone down for a few days...watch some basketball....and check back in a week. You may actually change your opinion. I'm sure a majority of our upgrades will come in the draft...and we can take any money left over and roll it into next year....yeah...kinda like Cleveland and Jacksonville has been doing for years and now look at what they can do to help their team. We will get there....and if we don't...well then I'm sure Ballard will be out and we will have a new GM and coach and they will try it differently. Have a nice day!!! Happy March Madness!!

Lol.

Im not upset and don't need a ant-acid pill or anything. I just call them the way I see them.

As a life long colt fan I've seen PLENTY OF BAD COLT TEAMS AND PLENTY OF BAD SEASONS.

This is actually kinda the norm for the colts if you take away the Peyton & Polian era.

It was the Dark Ages for the better part of 2 Decades prior to Peyton.  Sadly We may be heading back to that.

But perhaps Ballards mid-low tier signings pan out and maybe he can draft a couple impact players this time and we can be somewhat competitive.

We'll see soon enough.

To be honest with you that tweet sounded more like a comment the reporter made in jest and somebody passed it on as if Suh said it. Suh doesn't even talk in the media that much.

His main issue has been the injuries. I agree hes a talent. Needs to be on the field though or otherwise what we will be getting is White from Chicago. Mr. Stay In The Ice Tub.

Good thing is I don't think any of his have been major injuries like broken bones or torn ligaments
