Yay, I am glad we are done!!! 4 rounds can be exhausting.

For the next post-Easter draft (proposing week of April 2nd):

I'd say 1 hour per pick moving forward with slotted times for GMs. They will know exactly when they need to show up and consensus will be 5 minutes AFTER their allotted time.

8 am to 11 pm ET - 16 picks

8 am, 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm, 9 pm, 10 pm, 11 pm ET

No guessing when their turn is, no looking for the @  reference whatsoever. They show up at their allotted time and make the pick. I think that will simplify things and reduce no-shows. PM'ing of picks always can continue to happen.

We also use the list from nfl.com when that comes around.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

For the first round at least, I disagree. Weve all got jobs and not always time enough to research their picks before picking. We can discuss another day though.

Oh, I definitely understand. Who is to say I might not be pulled away for an important meeting? In the past, I have PM'ed my picks and shown up just before my allotted time to make my pick since there is always uncertainty with work.

Here is my thought process for making this work. We will do all we can to get 32 different GMs. If that happens, and we have 16 picks each day like I proposed, a GM that typically has 1 pick per round needs to appear only once every 2 days.

So, when we have the Browns, and we say 8 am and 11 am for your 2 first round picks, that GM is prepared ahead of time for those time slots and if they cannot make one or both, they PM the picks. It is definitely doable if we manage to find 32 different GMs.

In essence, more than signing up for teams, you are signing up for drafting times. :)

It works in theory, but the problem I have with it is, lets say you can only get on before work at 7am for an hour, but you don't pick until 8pm, so that there are 12 picks from the time you log on until your pick.  Assume now that you won't get on again until 9pm.  You now have to come up with a big board of 13 picks.  That's a lot to do in an hour, IMO.

I just think it encourages unthought out picks at best and at worst, disincentivizes people to make an effort to show up and make their pick or send in their list of players.  Which it's a forum hosted draft, so really no big deal, but for people like myself who try to immerse myself into these drafts to the point it's laughable, I feel that that would take away a lot of the authenticity of drafting - at least as compared to other drafts.  Just my two cents.  I'll do whatever the majority decides, but I would say it should be voted on or at the very least understood by anyone signing up that they will have a predetermined time in which they can draft and that tehy should keep that in mind when sending in their list of prospects to draft in case they won't make their designated time.

Are we doing this? Do we do a roll call to sign up 32 GMs?

Up to you guys.

However, due to the high likelihood of duty calling in the coming days enlight of recent POTUS orders, I must decline being a commissioner. Highly likely I'll be out of communication for a while

Im in but how do we determine who gets what team ? Seniority shouldn't play a factor. I call Browns if available. Colts 2nd pick.

Neither should first call first serve. Feels like some guys have been tje colts more than once by virtue of cjecking the forums more than others.  Id rather 32 GMs sign up and then draw lots.

I highly doubt we find 32 GMs.

20 GMs, i dont care. Auto draft for CPU GMs or double up and then draw lots. Same difference.

If this is going to end up in some kind of argument just count me out.

I don't have time for the drama. This is suppose to be for fun and already hearing about what's fair.

Well. Ballard read my thread the night before trading with the Jets and decided to take my advice. Because of that, we have 3 extra 2nd round picks now. Since I have connections with Ballard and I didn't have the Colts last time, I think it's only fair that I get the Colts this time.  If that's not a good enough reason for you, I'll take the Broncos.

I think @crazycolt1 beat you to the punch, he went with the Colts. I will start a thread for GM sign up.

I would love too but unfortunately I don't have any spare time at all for it. I'm in my last semester and double majoring, plus as soon as the ground dries up I'll be back to working 70 hours a week planting while still working on my degree.

It's not an argument and it looks like we're doing first come first serve.  I'm okay with that.  I'm just stating my preference is all.
