I was just about to post that. Carter is a guy that was a top recruit out of HS, is an amazing athlete, but hasn't been able to fully put it together on the field.

Agree. Doesn’t dominate on the field. Perhaps he puts it together in the pros.

Impressed with Vander-Esch. Ran good and looked smooth in the drills. Liked that Baker and Jefferson both ran in the 4.5 range. That’s what you look for in 3-down WILL LBs.

Was hoping he'd be there when we turn in our 2nd pick before the combine. Don't think there's too much chance of that now.

Here are some elite athletes according to Kent Lee PLatte's Relative Athletic Score measurement:

Bradley Chubb finishe as an elite athlete even with the poor 3cone with RAS score of 9.43:

There were lots of LBs who had a good combine. We've got a class including:

Likely/Possible 1st rounders:

Tremaine Edmunds

Roquan Smith

Rashaan Evans

Leighton Vander Esch

Likely/Possible 2nd day picks:

Darius Leonard

Lorenzo Carter

Malik Jefferson

Dorian O'Daniel

Matthew Thomas

Fred Warner

Oren Burks

Shaquem Griffin

Jerome Baker

I feel like we've got to snag an LB... There must be someone we like.

As the process moves forward you might consider moving Carter up to the first round.

Between his size, speed and skills, he may have just made himself some serious coin the past few days...

The one thing that stands out to me in reviewing those TEA scores.....Urlacher mayb one of the greatest athletes to come out of college. His athleticim sure did translate to the football field.  I still think he is still the best  pure middle linebacker to ever play the game.

Urlacher was just the 3rd best ever on the Bears.

1-Ray Lewis

2-Jack Lambert

3-Dick Butkus

4-Mike Singletary

5-Ray Nitschke

6-Bill George

7-Junoir Seau

8-Chuck Bednarik

9-Nick Buoniconti

10- Brian Urlacher

I would put Badnarik a little higher because of his 2 Way play

I'm not sure that he does. His athleticism is a known. His biggest issue is that he was a top HS recruit that hasn't lived up to his hype.

I had forgotten about Jefferson. I have a feeling he may be one of our picks. I know we talked to him already. I like his physicality and he comes from the same school as Derrick Johnson.

With the staff talking about how they wanted to get faster, he’s exactly the type of player I envision. He can play SAM or WILL. He has that aggressive run and hit style of play necessary for the Tampa-2. I just don’t know if he could be the MLB to drop back into deep coverage.

I'd love the Colts to draft Griffin in the third round.

After that combine performance, I don't see him making it out of the 2nd. Someone is going to reach for him based on his athletic upside and strong character.

I would love to get him in the 3rd though. I liked him before the combine and I like him even more after.
