Don’t Flinch

Okay. So to piggy back on another topic, I watched Ballard’s interview with Colin Cowherd and absolutely loved something he said about adversity. When asked about being left at the altar by “he who will not be named” , he stated something that I loved.

Not quoting exactly: “when I was at Wisconsin playing for Barry Alvarez, he told us that we will encounter adversity and setbacks, but WE WILL NOT FLINCH.”

I love it. I think that should be are rallying cry/motto/ team saying... DON’T FLINCH

What do y’all think?

Also, any chance someone could work up some mobile wallpaper of computer background with that saying?

Talk and words mean literally nothing. This year needs to have some sort of positive outcome. It’s been too long coming

I am sure it will, with Luck back you can add 4 wins, then with another Draft + Free Agency we may be a 10-6 team with Reich Coaching. We lost 6 games by 7 points or less last season, that wont happen with Luck.

I wonder if Ballard has a name on a post-it note so he won't get didtracted by the hype? I hope he doesnt get mad and break a laptop and lose his note.

(Draft day movie)

He's probably eating Chicken and Waffles for breakfast, drinking coffee right now laughing at our Posts lmao

Something I like about Ballard is that he doesn’t repeat the same cliches ad nauseam. Taking a quote he used in a Colin Cowherd interview and printing it on shirts, using it as a mantra, etc, sounds like some cute high school thing. I just want him to build a team that wins Super Bowls.

I agree.  Something that I didn't like about Pagano was the constant T shirts (Build the Monster, Hungry and Humble, etc...)

I guess I look at this differently.  I just like that he preaches that no matter the adversity, we will not flinch.  This is something that I noticed on something else.  In the Catholics vs Convicts 30 for 30, the Notre Dame players talked about that Holtz preached all year that when adversity hits, they wouldn't flinch.  It just seems like something that could be beneficial for the players.  Basically, play your game, no matter what happens.

thinking to himself " I can't wait to see how they react when we pick a quarterback" with that evil grin on his face.

Funny enough, as much as we hated Chuck's 'Paganoisms', I think Chris has developed some 'Ballardisms' himself.

I mean, has he given an interview yet where he doesn't say 'Let me say this' haha

    • You think the Ed Dodds you see in edited clips here is the same as the Ed Dodds who interviews with teams?   I don’t know you or anyone would think that?      He’s very much respected around the NFL which is why multiple teams ask to interview with them most every year.

    • Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.   And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.    And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
