So now that the dust has settled, this is the staff that will lead us to the promised land:

 

  • Offensive coordinator: Nick Sirianni
  • Defensive coordinator: Matt Eberflus
  • Special teams coordinator: Bubba Ventrone
  • Assistant special teams: Frank Ross
  • Offensive line: Dave DeGuglielmo
  • Assistant offensive line: Bobby Johnson
  • Wide receivers: Kevin Patullo
  • Running backs: Tom Rathman
  • Tight ends: Tom Manning
  • Assistant quarterbacks: Marcus Brady
  • Offensive quality control: Gunnard Twyner
  • Defensive line: Mike Phair
  • Linebackers: Dave Borgonzi
  • Defensive backs/safeties: Alan Williams
  • Defensive backs/cornerbacks: Jonathan Gannon
  • Defensive quality control: David Overstreet II
  • Pass rush consultant: Robert Mathis
  • Sports performance director: Rusty Jones
  • Assistant sports science/conditioning:Ryan Podell
  • Assistant strength coach: Richard Howell

 

On the offensive side I see A LOT of diversity in systems previously coached and/or played in.

 

On the defensive side I see A LOT of 4-3 cover 2 and 3 experience.

 

In Ballard, Dodds and Hogan I see three guys VERY adept at filling out a 4-3 defense!

 

Here we go fellow horseshoes!

You're missing some coaches:

 

Jonathan Gannon as defensive backs/cornerbacks coach

David Overstreet II as defensive quality control coach

Frank Ross as assistant special teams coach

 

Also Gunnard Twyner as offensive quality control coach, not assistant special teams.

Ehh... They just named a WRs coach, didn't name a QB coach. And Sirianni was the Chargers QBs coach before he was the WRs coach. 

 

Also, based on the website, it looks like Mathis stays on as Pass Rush Consultant.

As noted in another thread, our offense has been INCREDIBLY predictable recently.  More diversity in the play-calling would do wonders for our offense.

 

The defense is the big question mark moving forward.  This might be a rebuild-year since we're switching to a 4-3, but if Ballard and this staff can quickly acquire enough youth and speed, our defense will hopefully improve enough to be a competent compliment to an improved offense with Luck at the helm.

With FA set to open up in just a few weeks, Is it worth mentioning that Mike Bluem is still Director of Football Administration???

I always felt, that while not all, or even many of Grigson's FA moves panned out favorably for the Colts, the contracts were structured soundly. Hopefully Bluem can work some of that magic this off season as well to help Ballard land some of the teams targeted FA's while also avoiding a bad cap situation in the future...

 

Anyways, while he's not a coach exactly, I feel like Bluem (assuming he is the one helping structure the contracts) has really helped build the team during this part of the off season...

I'm liking the looks of this staff.

all seem like stand-up, hard-working men. But i am gonna keep my eye on that ST guy from the "dark side".

  I think we dodged a MAJOR bullet with the McDooDoo thing.  A few years down the road i think we will really realize this. That dude is a prima-dona head case. A franchise killer as a HC.

 Just think of the difference in player-coach respect/relationship of Reich and McDooDoo.  Not even close. I think we have some coaches our pkayers can respect and follow...truly follow. They seem to be good teachers too, which Ballard wanted.

i'm excited.  Now we just need to get Andrew back out there.

If you are talking about Rusty Jones or something like that, he is supposed to be the best ever at his position.  Very excited about that guy.

I don't see Mike Bluem going anywhere. He's been one of the single best hires for the Colts in the last decade.

Reich did help Rivers & Wentz become better. Maybe a combination of Sirianni & Reich will be the actual 'Qb coach'. It's not normal for the HC to do that, but with his past success it could happen.

Very pleased indeed. Love the Frank Reich hiring. Glad to send the Patsy " back to his hole as well....Pats are going to learn to respect the horseshoe pretty quick when we get our hands back on them... I can't wait for a young, fast and talented defense. Put Brady in the dirt where he belongs...
