I can most definitely see Cleveland trading back up if they believe they can get Barkley at 1 and still get their QB. To know that they are in control to get any QB they want, and then to just settle for whomever is left, is ridiculous. But.....the cost would be more than a 3rd rounder. At this level of the draft, you have to pay to play. The 33rd pick would be totally appropriate compensation to get the QB they want after already plucking Barkley. What a haul that would be for Cleveland. This is why you stockpile draft picks: to put yourself in this scenario; refusing to part with the 33rd pick over the draft pick value chart and take the chance you can't get your QB of the future? I think not.

I think you have to wonder why Cleveland would want to trade up from 4 to 3. There's all kinds of speculation right now that they'll bypass a QB at #1 to pick Barkley, then just pick whichever QB is left.

Because Cleveland would have to worry that either NYJ or DEN would trade up with us and jump them for the 2nd QB on the board. If the Giants take QB1, they might want to trade up to 3 to guarantee that pick. They have the pick capital to do it as well.

That's why they will take a QB at #1

Depends. The Giants could well take Barkley if available, so could we. Would be easier to grab a good QB and Barkley if they took Barkley first. If they took a QB first they may well have to trade up to #2 to be sure to get Barkley.

For the sake of a few 2nds and 3rds they could have the pieces of a good offense in the making.

You don't risk missing out a potential franchise QB for a RB. You risk losing the RB.

Right. Only, I don't think the Colts pass on Barkley if he's there at three. Everyone wants to find a way to give Cleveland Darnold AND Barkley. I don't see that happening. But, we're months away
