Stalker level? What the hell you mean by that, you need to step off me. I have never even chatted with you before. If you have a problem we can take it to the Mods and you will lose so stop.

I was referring to your stalker level obsession with Barkley...your fascination with him is over the top.

Huh????

I think Harbaugh is overrated,  and on top of that his personality would clash with Ballard's and we could easily have another Grigson/Pagano situation or at the very least the bad environment that was developing in SF before he left.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings. Besides, when you have a GM who continues to say "it is never about just 1 guy" from the day he was hired, I am confident the Colts will rebound within the next 5 years with Ballard as GM, with or without Luck.

'When it's the franchise QB it kinda is sadly..

You can build the team like the Seahawks built and when the next QB comes around, things will come together. We will know with Luck when to move on and when not to move on, Ballard does not seem the kind of person that will hold himself hostage to that situation too long if it starts hurting the team, that is what I am getting at.

What options though?  That's the problem...

I think our options now are just about the same now as they were at the beginning. I didn't like Vrabel or Nagy. Wasn't anymore sold on Wilks than I am on some other young guy we could get. My top choices were McDaniels then Shurmur. I think Shurmur was a lock for NYG and we lost McDaniels. So I think our choices minus those 2 are as equally appealing now as we had in the beginning.

If we draft Mayfield, aka drew brees on steroids, then we'll know..

Luke Falk, Round 4 to the Colts, might happen, don't count it out. I still feel we need to develop another QB to provide competition across the board.

Pagano had a winning record because of Luck whoever we bring in as long as they are better than CP and Luck is healthy we shouldn't worry too much remember Luck got grigs gm of the year and he got fired from the browns Luck is a bigger thing to worry about than a coach IMO

Yep, Luck has to be better than the best QB in history. He Plays QB, RB, WR, TE, Lineman, DB, Punter and kicks field goals. The man just does it all.

Worth remembering in 2015 the Colts were 6-3 without Luck and only 2-5 with him.  So Luck alone doesn’t solve everything.

IMO

The lack of support he gave CP was the reason he struggled

Probably. ..he found some guys though. It's a crapshoot, if certain injuries didn't happen he would still be here..He isn't a scrub like people try and make him out to be though..Is Ballard better right now yes..Talk to me next yr though after wins vs losses

I don't think Meyer wants to come to the NFL. He already took a break from college coaching because of health issues, I just don't see him wanting the grind of an NFL workload, and there have been rumors here and there that he might even hang it up from college coaching sooner rather than later. Just don't see it happening.

I suppose Swinney is technically an option, you might be able to lure him with a big enough contract.  Although, I think his ultimate goal (even above the NFL) is to take over at Alabama after Saban and I think that would always be where his loyalty would be.  I have read his personality is very well suited for dealing with college players I don't know how he would do with millionaire players.  Plus no NFL experience at all as a player or coach. He's an option to consider I guess, but I don't know that I like him that much more than some of the other options. He would be a splash, but maybe not the right hire.

I agree but that wasn’t my point.  Your point was having Luck will make everything ok and Pagano and Grigson only had success because of him.  2015 proves both those myths wrong.

How about this us having an good QB or above average makes everything okay

    • Fries has proven to be a diamond find.  Figure our salary cap will determine how our OL future pans out. Starting WRs are some of the best in the league.  Can AR connect with them like Menshew done?    TE room wouldn’t mind adding Fannin but team needs devalue him as BPA.  Conyers is great in run blocking and can catch hoping falls to R4-6 range.    DL help is a major area of need agreed.  Think I had a Day 3 initial grade on NT Rene Konga but each week he has impressed.  Between Konga and Michigan’s Benny probably our two best choices for Stewart’s role.  See my recent Week 4 top 10-15 players posted especially for LB and DB options.
    • I would personally like to see more bootlegs, and more throws on the run. AR is SO good at that.   Especially since they love playing out of shotgun so much.
    • Army is playing mistake free football, very impressive so far. One of a handful of unbeaten Group of 5 schools.
