Super Bowl LII (52) Game Thread

I’d just like to point out that “greatest” threw some really bad passes. 3 on the last drive. That likely cost them. Also he fumbled the football the drive before.

Ok so when is McDaniels officially hired as the coach here now ?

Wouldn't be surprised if it was tomorrow but that would be rough on McDaniels to lose the Superbowl and have to get on a flight right away so they may have to wait until Tuesday.

Nick Foles MVP. Good for him. He can never play another down and he is a legend. NFC East 3-0 vs Tom.

Nevermind, I misread that lol

I was waiting for the penalty flag at the end there.

"Pass interference. Defense. Hitting Gronk while attempting a catch. Ball is spotted at the spot of the foul."

i was too!  Granted on Jump balls like that they normally don't.  But I will say this, Brady still has a heck of an arm to lob it 50+ like that accurately

He needs to let it go......Past should have lost to Jacksonville.

Got to give the Eagles credit..

They won with their offense the last 2 weeks.

..and Nick Foles was very, very good

Nick Foles and the Eagles did what Seattle and Atlanta couldn't ... close this team out!

SO HAPPY!!

Brad Stevens is the best coach in Boston right now. Yeah I had to go there. Brad forever, forever Brad.

You knew the Eagles were destined for this SB win when both the Coleman TD and Ertz TDs did not go in favor of the Patriots, they at least get some of those 50-50 calls.

How can a Superbowl MVP not play another down. He kind of proved he can play at high level.

Yep. He was going to retire. I think Philly re-signs him and keeps him as a backup. Did Hostetler get to play much after he won? I can’t remember.

Happened to Pagano.  Wasn't the Super Bowl, but they lost to the Pats and the next day, he was hired as head coach here

I swear the MVP thing is real with a curse.

Enjoy it guys, just glad it's over now.

I was just telling my wife this. Getting MVP Is never a good thing if you’re in the playoffs

Agreed but both were right call....yet all season those were reversed...hard to believe.

Watching the replay, it is now funny how Gronk shoved an eagle player to get to end zone. He is one strong dude

yeah and then he tries to flop to draw penalties, which works more than not.

haha love how Collinsworth throws in the 2 plays that went the Eagles way at the end to throw shade on it. As if the Pats have not had a million and two plays go their way in the last 20 years, this guy needs to be taken off the air

Gosh, I'm unreasonably happy. If only the Falcons hadn't collapsed or the Seahawks had ran the ball.. all of this GOAT talk wouldn't be..

Oh well

THE PATRIOTS LOSE (or the eagles win..)

YAY!

Wait a minute, speaking of curse.

Well, technically he didn't get injured, so only partially a curse... or did he if you count the thumb? Hmm...

If we judge him by the 'Peyton Manning standard' we must conclude that his good numbers don't matter because he turned the ball over to lose the game

All this time everyone was worried about Tom vs Time but they should have worried about Tom vs Foles. That kid deserves a cold beer...played a perfect game.

Nick Foles....just a great job by you......wow...from starter to backup....from backup to hero

Its really something..because there's no chance he will QB the Eagles next season.

I'd retire if I was him. There's nothing more for him to do

He threw for over 400 yards and 2 TDs  and the O scored 33on the best D in the NFL. This game was lost because the Pats D couldn't stop the Eagles at all.

It was 'Tom vs Accuracy'  and 'Tom vs. Ball Security"

    • Note- "by" week 4.  Could be sooner.
    • personally, I don't think there's a QB worth a dang that is going to be available at 13. So QB is likely out. Based on Ballard's interview about winning in the trenches and how he feels the OL has been addressed but we need to address the DL, I look for a NT/DT to be taken in round 1.  I think WR at 34 is a high likelihood after that.
    • PFR has him at 31 catches on 37 targets.
    • My point in all this is if JB was in the draft this year he would prolly be 4th best QB. 3rd best if you look at him before the injury. So why we trying to grab someone in the top 2 rounds if we already have someone just as good. Let's grab a playmaker at WR/TE or get a dominant 3T. Or hope that Redskins or Bengals do the stupid thing.
    • I agree with you about both Morgan and PTW.  I'm not a big fan of drafting "developmental" Qbs because I don't think they ever amount to anything.  The best course in that way would be to draft Gordon as late as possible because he at least looks the part of an NFL QB, and hope that he hits, like Minshew.   Still love the idea of a 6'6 3T and a 6'7 1T.  Nothing is getting through the middle, and two trees right in the QBs face.  Neither would come out of the game very much, except for rest.
