LOL  How are they dumb now that they got rid of a coach that I saw a lot of Colts fans saying sucked and now are pursuing the same guy that Ballard wants?

Like I said...a lot can happen in 3 weeks.

They're dumb because they are now several weeks behind in terms of interviews and may have to wait 3 more . By then, I'd imagine most candidates will be having gentlemen agreements in place

Ballard really should have cast out a wider net.  Disappointed that he left several names on the table.  Maybe he has done more that we just don't know about but I doubt it.

We don't know everyone that's been interviewed or considered, only what's been speculated in the media. You don't know who's on the table and who's not.

I wouldn't say they're dumb, but the Titans fans are super ungrateful for what Mularchy has done for this Titans team the last 2 years after being irrelevant before he arrived. And to me I don't know why you would want to work for the Titans front office now after hearing the owner say just days ago that Mularchy was their guy going forward, and word was out that they were offering an extension to him. Then this happens. Makes me lose a lot of respect for their front office.

Well they couldn't help that they made the playoffs and actually won a game.  That's to their credit.  Unlike the Colts who were too blinded by early success to see the liabilities of Chuck Pagano and kept him for 2 years too long...the Titans actually saw through their success and realized their coach was still mediocre.  They did something about that pronto.  To me that makes them smart.  Plus they want the same guy that the smart Chris Ballard wants.  People are just upset that this could possibly mean no McDaniels or at the very least they will have to sweat it out for a longer period of time.

Just wait and see and hope the new guy does a good job.  We have no control over it.

Yeah, our perception of who the best guy is, is just our perception.

We can talk reality a year from now, and I'm more interested in that.

I'm trusting Ballard, and the process.

I'm willing to accept any of the candidates, as we don't really know much about how any of them will turn out.

However, all bets are off if we end up with Mularky.

If the Colts had the foresight to do the same with Pagano we would probably be better off right now.  But Irsay let his emotions get in the way.  Titans sensed an opportunity to upgrade and are going for it.  It's not like there weren't rumblings of Mularkey's inadequacies.

Im not upset in the slightest. I'm not a proponent of McDaniels to be honest. Said that many times. If we get him, fine, if we don't, fine. I've got faith that Ballard has a plan B. Sometimes plan B works better than plan A. We shall see though.

Gotta believe McDaniels ends up in Tennessee, they would not have fired Mularky if they didn't have some sort of indication. This could be really tough to swallow.

Don't be too sure. It's not like Tennessee is this great job or anything. I would argue the Colts are closer than most think in terms of talent, they just have less luck in terms of injuries as compared to the Titans, who haven't had much injuries the past 2 years.

Plus Tennessee is already way behind in the interview process and Ballard I'm sure has already had discussions of hiring McDaniels since they've already met and have the same agent.

We won't hire Mularkey.

If we lose out on McDaniels you can blame Ballard on this one.  If he was the No.1 choice there was no reason not to make it happen.  They satisfied the Rooney rule early and were still waiting on Wilks.  The fans that wanted him can only hope they already have an agreement and he honors it.  If we lose out on McDaniels I hope Ballard expands the search and at least talks to Shaw and Peterson and a few others.   I read where Irsay's daughter wants a younger coach so that would probably eliminate Toub among others.  I thought this could happen and it did.  A young GM learning on the job?  Let's hope he has a deal in place.  If he doesn't I can see him going to the Titans.  A nightmare comes true?

I hope Toub becomes our coach. I never wanted McDaniels. Go watch Toub interviews... He's composed and we'll spoken. We need a leader who is steady and works well with Ballard.

Don't know why we haven't heard anything about him at all during our process.  Very strange.  You would think he'd at least get an interview from Ballard.

    • I'm going to respectfully disagree here. I think, regardless of what the fans might think, their lack of FAs and re-signing all our own means the Colts believe this team is truly capable of making waves in 2024, being only 1 play away from a playoff birth/division title.    I think they believe that they are a couple pieces away but clearly need a top skill position wideout to pair with Pittman and Downs. Every pick after that is fillers, depth, and/or less important needs in their minds.    You could wind up being correct but I'm sticking with my trade up scenario where the only way I'm wrong is that we find out later, the Colts could not find a trade partner or that the trade partners really wanted to much in compensation.   I'm sticking with Colts trade to with Chargers and take Nabers at pick 5.
    • Latest update not encouraging? Where's that at? Wasn't in that article.     Everything I have seen, has shown some athleticism has already started to come back.     I posted a couple rehab videos somewhere a month ago or so.   He is already dunking and looked very quick on take off and on his straight line running.   Can't remember if there was a change of direction in the the video but I think there was that as well.     Saying that, I think we still bring in a CB, but everything I have seen has been encouraging in regards to rehab.
    • Steelers picking at No.20 probably want him to get past Bengals and Jaguars so that they can draft Adonai Mitchell, so could be an article blessed by the organization too
    • I think we stay at 15, hope Bowers is there but dont think he will be. With latest update not encouraging that Flowers will be ready seems like Corner more likely to be taken over WR.  First round corner paired with Brents with Jones first corner off the bench should yield better results then last season.   ttps://www.aol.com/cb-dallis-flowers-rehabbing-achilles-084056300.htm
    • I think the draft falls this way:   1) Bears: Caleb 2) Commanders: Daniels 3) Vikings (trade with Pats) Maye 4) Cardinals: MHJ 5) Colts (trade with Chargers) Nabers   Reason for my top 5 is that I think the Patriots really like McCarthy, coupled with the Brady/McCarthy Michigan thing plus the Pats need more player help, it makes sense for the Pats to trade back to 11 but still be in front of the Raiders and Broncos to get their QB   Colts trade up reason: I think the Chargers need O-line help as well as other players like WR, however I believe the Chargers can still get a top LT at 15 and WR late in round one or if they trade back into round one which I believe they will attempt to do in this scenario. Plus, the Harbough Indy connection makes this trade likely.   Even if the Commanders take Maye at 2, I still think the Vikings trade up and then grab Daniels. Pats take McCarthy.   I think this is the year the Colts finally will mortgage a little bit of the future for the wideout. I'm going to stick with this. I hope my gut is correct here, we'll see.
