Recommended Posts

Hi,  Colts fans!   :)  A battle of  AFC teams plague by internal player injuries through the 2017 NFL season, showcase tonight on the NFL weekly Thursday Night Football coverage in tonight's 27th all-time meeting. Kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium (the building is by 8:25PM Eastern Standard Time.

Both the Colts and Broncos are coming off their last games played on Sunday, and both teams have also adjusted and prepared their short practice schedule to acomodate TNF.

Both Indianapolis and Denver are tied each with 13 games apiece, including 3 postseason games, with the winner having the one-game lead in the series. Colts are also 3-0 in postseason games played after the 2003, 2004, and 2014 NFL season, along with 10 regular season games.

Last time the Colts and Broncos played at LOS,  it was Peyton's Manning's last full season as an NFL player but the opposing team, the Denver Broncos, hence, the 'Manning Bowl,' played  back on November 8, 2015. However, Adam Vinitieri's 55-yard field goal with 6:13 remaining in the fourth quarter, helped Indianapolis edge Denver 27-24.

Andrew Luck  and Peyton Manning each completed identical 21 of their  36 passes,  two touchdowns, and  1 sack. Luck threw 252 yards, and 0 interceptions, while Manning 281 yards, but 2 INT's.

Denver though defeated Indianapolis 34-20 at both teams last meeting, played at Sports Authority Field At Mile High, back on September 18, 2016.

Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Heather Cox, for NBC's Network's over-the-air  coverage of The NFL's Thursday Night Football coverage, along with The NFL Network, and Amazon Prime Video are all simulcasting tonight's primetime matchup between the Broncos and Colts, including locally WTHR  NBC Channel 13 in Indianapolis, and in your personal devices including your laptop, iPad, and smartphone  through the NFL app provided by Verizon, all media seen live on HD.

Tonight's NFL Thursday Night Football is also the color rush game, so the visiting Broncos are wearing their blue helmets, and Nike orange color rush jerseys and pants, while the host Colts are wearing their white helmets, and Nike color rush blue jerseys and pants.

NO injuries, try to win your fourth game of the season in front of your Colts faithful ant LOS, and LET'S GO COLTS!!!!!  :cheer:  :coltslogo:   :1colts:   :colts:   :coltslogo:  :cheer:

Me too, our 2006 team was loaded with him, Marvin, and Clark. Reggie is what I call a TrueColt - he bleeds blue!

Love how he usually picks us on those pregame shows.

Never badmouthing to bad if he has to be critical...People love doing the REGGIE chant..lol

Aye, CC giving props to the Colts as a fighting team stating it should be fun to watch.  It should, hopefully.

Actually it is amazing how many close games we have lost. This is promising for next season when Luck returns because we will better next season with another Draft and new Coach.

    • Colts have won one playoff game in 6 seasons. Some more losing seasons and this team is no longer even in the top half of NFL franchises. They would be mostly irrelevant. I can’t imagine Irsay going for that.   Ballard is definitely safe...but this is year 5 and I am assuming there is a bit more urgency than just waiting for the perfect opportunity to come along.
    • Supplement with draft picks. Ballard has had a few rookies playing significant snaps every year...so we could assume the same this year. Plus...you have some  younger players who could take a step forward next season.  Also...there’s player for player swaps that can be explored.   I think you could easily replace everyone on that list except Houston and Rhodes. And I would keep MAC as a cheap TE2.   A big FA contract will put a strain on the cap...which is why a rookie QB would be huge. But I also think this is their chance to spend on a premium non-QB position or two.   But another way to burn cap space is to re-sign a bunch of outgoing vets...essentially paying more money for the same team components (in many cases). If that was a list of FAs...I would probably be interested in a few of them at most. But that’s just me...and I am sure other teams will be interested in each of them on some level...so this seems like a great chance to shift some cap space to quality (instead of quantity) and accrue some comp draft capital...even if it’s mid-late Day 3 picks.
    • Ok.   Appreciate the response.   I thought you were going to say they were typo’s, but apparently not.   Alright, we see it differently.  Nothing wrong with that.  It’s what makes the world go around.    Thanks again....
    • Some team will gamble on Hooker. He will only be 25 and he’s a former lottery pick with huge talent. A $7M AAV would put him just inside the top 15...just ahead of guys like Ricardo Allen, Vonn Bell and Tre Boston. I think a team would look to lock in a second year team option of sorts...but maybe not. Either way...he should have suitors and will have an opportunity to at least get a good one-year deal to rebuild value. Edit: Obviously this is assuming Hooker has recovered and can pass a physical. If not, then he probably gets half that and possibly might not even be signed until during the season.    Rhodes was a top 10 player last season...at a premium position. He produced a ton of value on his cheap pillow contract...and now he gets to cash in. With a very good track record (even at his age), he is going to command a nice 2-3 year deal to finish out his career. A $12M AAV would pay him just outside that top 10 range for CBs...and this deal is similar to the one that Haden signed with PIT after having a late-career resurgence.  Knowing Ballard...I am sure he would structure it in a way that they could get out after one year if Rhodes fell apart. But given the current state of the CBs...they almost have to re-sign him.
